Rahm didn't listen to me back when he was hyping Musk's never-gonna-happen hyperloop. My idea was slightly less dumb and impractical: DIRIGIBLES.

Launch from Northerly Island. Service to ORD/MDW/PWK. Put ads on the bottom for people stuck in traffic to stare at. No tunneling required.

Someone at The WELL linked to this hilarious part of the Claude Code analysis which detects user anger via regex, which is ELIZA-level intelligence alex000kim.com/posts/2026-0...

The fact they chose to key the stats on the letters in the puzzle instead of date means they aren't planning to ever repeat a puzzle

A screenshot of the summary screen for today's Merriam Webster's Blossom game showing blank stats. It appears their stats API is not returning data for today's puzzle.

They released the 2026-04-01 game data in time, but this seems to have broken stats for today.

They key the stats not on the date, but the puzzle_id (ex: "N-AGIKLT" is today's), which may be part of the problem, if not the root of it.

Expecting something weird for tomorrow's @merriam-webster.com #blossomwordgame

Normally their graphql API returns game data days or weeks in advance, but ask it for 2026-04-01 and it's 🦗🦗🦗

I had a tiny twitter interaction with Margo ~2017. I made an oblique reference to her anti-Clinton/pro-Jill Stein views and she gave it a "like" which I'm not sure how to interpret (and we'll never know now; RIP)

Also voted Margo, despite the age of the recordings. Makes me regret not nominating the 2001 release I probably listened to most that year: the NUGGETS 2 box.

The reason you can’t give a single inch on anything be it trans rights or dignity for unhoused people is that they, democrats and republicans alike, will take it and say thanks what else is in your pockets? They won’t say thanks actually.

Long ago, the company I was at got acquired by this company that had a system named "Ockham" and nobody really knew how it worked. It was J2EE + Oracle running on fridge-sized Sun servers with fancy F5 load balancers. Everyone involved was either laid off or quit within a year.

When someone suggests a project name like this in a meeting, we all have a laugh and move on.

Unless there's one guy (and it's always a guy) not laughing. Then you end up working non-ironically on Project Icarus for the next 6 months.

Sounds like some of the same arguments I hear in software development. Depressing. If you push a bug, you own it!

That's a story too: mainline north suburban dems from Brad Schneider on down backed Fine and that only got her 3rd place

Humble Comics Bundle: Love and Rockets and More: The Collected Hernandez Bros. by Fantagraphics Love and Rockets, Maggie the Mechanic, Psychodrama Illustrated, and more! You choose what you pay for the full Hernandez brothers library and support the ACLU!

There's currently an $18 mountain of Love & Rockets and associated comics on Humble Bundle, and I'm going to be overseeing a low-key Discord book club to read it all over the course of a year or so. www.humblebundle.com/books/love-a...

My IG ads are an alternate-universe where I'm a culture-warrior homeschooler and/or evangelical pastor and/or aspiring grindset thought leader. I should lean into that.

The racket is IG doesn't care about ads being wildly off-target since they get $$$ from hapless advertisers thinking they're getting "reach."

Hi @hashnode.bsky.social when I point my RSS reader at one of the blog feeds you provide, I get an HTTP 429 with a "x-vercel-challenge-token"

It's making it impossible to use the feeds. Is there a workaround?

St. Louis beer fans pour one out amid rumors of discontinued Stag kegs It’s unclear if kegs of St. Louis-favorite Stag will still be available in the coming months, or if the kegs will still be available in certain parts of the region in the future.

AB InBev took over the Pabst Brewing contract. Production of their boomer brews has been shifting to St. Louis for a while, with City Brewery in LaCrosse taking on Old Style and a few others. Now it appears ABI is culling the portfolio -- in addition to Stag kegs I've heard bad rumors about Schlitz.
