Total acceptable. As is a dessert dinner. Ehem.

I keep reminding myself that this madness didn’t exist to this degree only 10 short years ago. I think we have to strike the word ‘normal’ from our lexicon. It no longer exists. Bizarre, surreal, unfathomable have to take its place methinks. Love you, my friend!
Or just scream into the void for a bit. That works too.
Been feeling like this for a while & it’s enough to make you despair. The only thing I’ve found that works is to focus on the things you have control over. Relationships with friends & family. Keeping your local world ticking along. There is good out there, even when it doesn’t seem so.
I feel like you’re safe in your onesie today? But that could change in 5mins.
🙄 🤦🏻♀️
Ooff yeah I’m in Mt Roskill & there are potholes & general holes galore around here. Lots of flooding zones. Fun times. Hope your sinkhole is sorted now?
I defer to your experience. It’s not likely to happen anyway, but what a difference it would make to so many, if we could make it work.
AstroTurf?!! Good grief, what are we becoming. I’d be happy to have mine planted out & if it needs to be bowled over for emergency service access, so be it. There’s definitely potential here, just how to do it without causing problems as you say.
Solid points for main roads, but your average suburban street might fare a bit better. Fruit trees could be assigned to particular berms so they’re maintained. I dunno what the perfect answer is, but it’s gotta be better than wasted space.
Black Flagellation
Would also nullify a whack of the supermarkets power on basic fruit and vege. As for hurting the pipes to properties, I’m sure there’s a way to do this & work around the pipes.
Controversial take: convert all berms to vege/fruit/plant/flower growing, with a limit on # of trees so emergency services can access properties. The state of the berms in Auckland these days, means that emergency services can’t get to most anyways 🤦🏻♀️ Might as well use ‘em for good.
Ultimate fangirl experience: I got to hi-five Beth during their gig at the North Shore Event Centre. Squeee!
One of my all time favourite bands. So great live too.
Mine just likes to eat boxes. Like a munter.
Duran
Did you just jinx summer?! Sssshhhhh!
Giving a bit of advice to the First Born (18y), in my best GenX paranoid voice: might not wanna sunbathe between 11am-2pm, dude. Ozone hole & all that. AND MORE SUNSCREEN!
Gotta keep the bottom feeders feeding the bottom.
Damn! Wanted to see that. Hopefully it’s on TVNZ+. Menopause is of the devil.
Done and nice to read your posts again. Just arrived on Bluesky and it feels like home already.
Thanks for the, er, heads-up… loving the vibe here already.
