it was a toss up between it & GR & i went with it bc not amazon & i loooove it. i read audio & physical books & i love how it can track both (& if it doesn't have a specific edition you can add it), i love it has challenges, a robust library, it has stats & graphs!!! & i can rate without reviewing.

i still push through the occasional one that i probably should DNF but it's soooo important to recognise with the ones that just aren't going to happen that's it's fine, actually, to just... not read it anymore 😂 you don't have to do it to yourself

Yesterday, Google chose to remove Doki Doki Literature Club from the Google Play Store. Their explanation is that the game’s content violates their Terms of Service in its depiction of sensitive themes. DDLC is widely celebrated for portraying mental health in a way that meaningfully connects deeply with players around the world, helping them feel heard, understood, and less alone on their journey. Managing to achieve that—making a truly meaningful difference by using the power of fiction to connect to others—is what I’m most grateful for. It inspires me every day to keep making cool new things, things that can really reach others, especially those in need of connection. DDLC is available on many different major platforms, including iOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and more. We’re continuing to do everything we can to find a path forward for getting DDLC reinstated on the Google Play Store. Meanwhile, we’re also looking into potential options for alternate methods of distribution on Android devices. We worked hard to bring DDLC to Android, and we’ve gotten to see so much love and enthusiasm from passionate Android users over these past few months. it's actually pretty much only this year when i got a new ereader in jan that i've even started reading books with my eyeballs again (which explains why the numbers for 26 are shaping up to be bonkers, bc i'm been reading ebooks AND audiobooks).

it's fascinating! i pretty much stopped reading entirely bc previously i'd read on PT & lunch 5 days a week & at home i had other distractions. plus most of the (very few) books i read in 20-21 were comfort reads. 2023 is when I discovered audiobooks, so i could read while gaming/crafting/etc.
