When they can’t compliment you, it’s a tell for me. A stranger on the street will freely pass out a compliment any day of the week. There’s no way they should be a better hype man/woman than a real friend.

I had a friend of a friend who would do passive aggressive stuff and I'd ask myself "why is she doing this I don't get it." When I told somebody else they said "oh she's jealous" and I immediately dismissed it. YEARS later I realized that's exactly what it was.
