NEW: Wearing masks, no ID, unmarked & blacked out cars, refusing to say what agency they’re from and using profanity with any press & public nearby.
This was at 14th & R in Washington DC, this morning (Sunday).
What the hell is happening to the US?

We received our cancellation letters today. The amazing work and projects that all these organizations spent YEARS preparing for are wiped away for yet another statue of George Washington. Absolutely livid.
Do any of my followers have museums association access and can share an article with me 🥺

Lacey Wilson @law6pubhist.bsky.social is a positive force for #PublicHistory and she is turning 35 in April. Let's seize this opportunity to celebrate Lacey and help support her impact; let's raise $350 for the Teen Museum Studies Program at the Underground Railroad Education Center!!! #NCPH2025
Ugh bring back unfathomably rich people who endowed and sponsored the arts and humanities
As someone who built their career on digital programming to expand DEAI access to cultural heritage, the last 6 weeks have been brutal. I’m not just a practitioner, I’m also a researcher who craves quantitative data of what all we’re losing! Add programs you’ve seen disappear to this Google Sheet.
You mean to tell me that NYC has the largest metro in the country and we still can’t roll out tap to pay OMNY cards for our digital wallets like… erm… Chicago, DC, and Toronto (yes Canada, but one I use often)
7) we as internship supervisors cannot make our applications complicated - we need to prioritize transparency in why we need the materials and info we need and not play games with these students
8) share your findings on best practices and innovative methods with others who may work with interns
4) not everywhere needs to host an internship
5) as the next generation of leaders steps up, we cannot discount the importance of rest and moments to reflect, evaluate and innovate for our teams.
6) remind folks that the field is v small and yes the interns are talking about your internship

2) museum studies admin are stretched thin trying to advocate for their students and stay on top of best practices
3) we have remind people that change can begin anywhere but we have to nurture the future of the field to see that change become foundational to the future trajectory of the field

I had the best time at @rittigers.bsky.social today talking about internships in the GLAM sector.
Some of the big things I learned from the attendees:
1) students are wondering if they can negotiate their internships payments similar to salaries

The Society of American Archivists is seeking volunteers for an Archival Labor Task Force. Interested in shaping a worker-centered future of the field? Info here:

I can only aspire to be this lucky 🤞🏾
It should be impossible to gain a new food allergy after puberty. Like leave me alone.
Having new food allergies is so embarrassing (for me). It’s like oh yes you have historically seen me house peanut butter cups but now… they could kill me 🥹 and like oh thank you for that beautifully arranged French toast - those blueberries will wreck me 🙃

Yes exactly this.
Disappointed but not surprised is such an adult feeling. Like as a child, you struggle to grasp the complexity of the feeling but as you get older, you really get to understand the depth of it and how it applies to many situations.
Thank you for suggesting me!
Yay welcome!!
Reading work emails at the bar even though I’m technically out of office just to feel something, truly anything today
