Last fall, I met with leaders at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in Tokyo, and today I am excited to welcome SMBC to North Carolina. SMBC will create more than 2,000 jobs, and generate more than $13 billion in economic activity in its new Charlotte headquarters.

You shouldn’t have to travel far to get access to care in an emergency. AdventHealth’s new facility in Weaverville is an investment in the future of western NC. The new hospital will create 1,300 jobs and make health care more affordable and accessible in Madison and Yancey counties.
Small businesses like Flavors on Main General Store in Marion are the backbones of North Carolina’s rural communities. Thanks to owners Doug and Debbie for sharing their story, including how they’ve been able to not only keep their doors open but create new offerings after Helene.

NC has the largest manufacturing workforce in the Southeast, and we’re still growing. TSEA Energy is building its first manufacturing facility in the USA right here in Rockingham County. Their commitment to invest $17 million is a huge win for the state and will bring 106 good-paying jobs to Eden.
As Attorney General, I worked with places like Fayetteville to invest in LEAD programs that connect people to addiction treatment. I’m excited to announce the expansion of Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion to Wilmington, Greensboro, and Albemarle as well as Robeson, Gaston, and Harnett counties.
The Trump Administration is spending nearly $1 billion in taxpayer money to pay off a company to stop investments in the clean energy we need. This is a terrible deal for the people of North Carolina and our country.
Asheville Regional Airport is where western NC adventures begin for many visitors. It’s good to see that last year was its second-busiest year ever. Western NC is open for business!
