Although tbh my fingers are nothing special. I'd only rate each of them one out of ten.

A Caturday question. After handling anything mint flavoured, does anyone else, who values their fingers, have to make sure they *thoroughly* wash their hands before going near their cat?

Reeves reaffirms commitment to end windfall tax in talks with North Sea bosses The Chancellor met figures from BP, TotalEnergies and Serica in Downing Street.

I'm dismayed by rumours govt may scrap the windfall tax on oil and gas giants

With energy bills still driving cost of living pressures, it's senseless to cut taxes for highly profitable polluters, who already receive ยฃ2.7bn per year in tax breaks

I'm not sure if I'm just paying attention more, or if governments are being increasingly brazen in their disregard for the welfare of the people that they pretend to serve. It's always gone on, obviously, but it seems so shameless and normalised.

Sorry for contributing to your downfall, Zack, but I'm definitely still going to vote for The Greens. I guess I'm just not a very nice person.

Proposal to refer to billionaires as "radical capitalists"

Laws designed to allow large corporations to maintain control over our daily lives are being passed at an increasing rate, while laws designed to protect people are being broken brazenly by the powerful.

Something I've seen Reform voters say a few times is "But you said you supported Labour/Starmer!"... yes, but now Labour no longer align with those people's views, so they no longer support them. How is this unclear? If you stick with a leader/party no matter what they do then you're just in a cult

At the risk of being labelled a radical extremist, I think we should bring actual accountability (back) to politics.

A picture of a black and white cat sitting next to a desk that is being used for miniature painting. The cat is staring intently, in a diverting braincell to impending mayhem way, at a white mug containing water that has been used to wash off the brush. In the foreground is a Frontier Wargaming wet palette with purple and metallic silver paint on it, and in the background a few racks of the Frontier Wargaming paint case are visible with assorted expensive tiny bottles of acrylic paint.

It's nice when they take an interest in your hobbies. Has anyone seen the mop?

Based on my investment portfolio, I've determined that I'll be able to retire comfortably at the age of 236.

That is unless Discworld collectibles skyrocket in value. In which case I'll wave at you peasants from my yacht.

Just so we are all on the same page, Farage probably knows the investigation won't go anywhere, but he's just setting the media narrative in the minds of the Reform voters to give them another excuse to fall back on about why they lost.

They will lap it up.

I see "sectarian" is the political buzzword of the moment, and that people are repeating it, as if it means anything in this context, without troubling themselves with a dictionary.

So, as a proud member of the "trying not to be an insufferable arse" sect. Vote Green ๐Ÿ’š

Labour would have been fine with Reform winning Gorton and Denton because they would have claimed it validated their anti-immigrant and anti-trans policies and doubled down. Very happy that the message was clear: You should have treated people with respect and basic decency.

Reform asked voters of Gorton and Denton to 'channel their patriotic Blitz spirit'

And they did just that - by defeating fascists.

Labour will be having a focus group this morning to figure out what it was about the empathetic, emotionally intelligent, working class, normal human being that appealed to the voters of Gorton and Denton.

3) Don't play dirty. The bizarre claims about the Greens in relation to drugs and sex workers were desperate, embarrassing, and harmful. It is no wonder they did not work and instead reflected badly on our party.

I imagine a lot of Labour MPs are unhappy with Keir Starmer right about now after the Green Party win in Gorton and Denton. Oh well, hopefully some of the tools his father made were spanners, as there's a constituency in need of a plumber ๐Ÿ˜

Well done Hannah and the Greens ๐Ÿ’š

Apparently not as they raised taxes because they were wrong...

1 month ago 2 0 0 0

As they did at the council level.

1 month ago 0 0 1 0

How does that mean reform can lower taxes? Sounds like the opposite.

1 month ago 0 0 1 0

OK, so now we are back at, how do they know it will work on the national level if they win a GE? or will they just say "We can't the last lot left too much of a mess. Taxes need to risse"?

1 month ago 1 0 1 0

They said that about councils, and still put up taxes?
