Wow, good for Canada's forests. But as the vid says, Drax will keep burning wood from elsewhere, including US forests, on a massive scale. This power plant is 52 years old! Time for the UK government to shut it down and fund a just transition. #StopBurningShit #AxeDrax

“If my client, who accounts for less than 2 percent of sales of crack to children, were to shut down his crack-selling operations, crack smoking among children would still continue,” said the drug dealer's lawyer on Thursday.
Great to see the Co-operative Bank puting its ethical and planet-friendly values front and centre.

This from Geoffrey Robertson QC is generous to Starmer. He surely must now stand up to Trump and condemn this egregious act of aggression.
I can't see it happening.

Rep. Seth Moulton: "This is insane. What the hell are we doing? ... this is illegal."
The Co-op Bank needs to:
📱 improve digital platforms
📣 communicate its ethics boldly again
✊ take a position, on issues from Palestine to AI ethics and the rise of the far right.
This can't wait until 2027 or 2028 whe the merger with Coventry Building Society has been completed.

My intelligence tells me the ballroom donors possessed weapons that were capable of killing Dick Cheney within 45 minutes of an order to do so.
That would at least keep Wilders out. It's not everything but it's something.
That's my effort to work out what the exit polls mean. Let's see how it looks in the morning.
It's a good result in that Wilders has suffered, and his chances of being in the next coalition are down. But it's a bad result for the left.
Left votes moving to the centre looks like the main change going on here, which after two years of a failing right/far-right coalition is really not good.
So. The right has fractured, but not really lost seats overall. PVV losses more or less equal JA21 and FvD gains.
In the centre D66 and CDA soaked up all the losses from the NSC's total collapse, and gained a bunch more, it seems from the left.
Here's what 74 European banks considered "material" in their CSRD reporting. Bad news for "affected communities" (among other categories).
This woudl seem to point to a flaw in allowing companies to pick their own material issues.

A new study shows how much the global oil and gas industry is contributing to renewable energy. And it is ... 1.42%.

This kind of melts away a lot of arguments from the finance sector about why they should keep propping up these companies so they can "transition".
It's almost as if we can't rely on the global banking sector to solve climate change

Rockefeller Brothers Fund provides funding to a huge number of good campaigning organisations, including ones working directly and fearlessly against Israel's genocide. So I don't agree with your analysis here.
"The increases in fossil fuel production [in governments' current plans] would lead to global production levels in 2030 that are 500%, 31%, and 92% higher for coal, oil, and gas, respectively, than the median 1.5ºC-consistent pathway."

We asked the UK advertising watchdog, the ASA, to investigate its own ads for being misleading. Then, to use the universal language of clickbait, this happened (they said their own rules didn't apply to them)
