The study measured which of three bowls the dogs approached first: blue, grey or yellow. Dogs only have two color photoreceptors, so they mainly see the world in 🔵 and 🟡
Most dogs went to the yellow bowl first, and brightness didn't account for their preference.

We replicated methods from Roy et al. (2025) who studied color preferences in free-ranging #dogs in India. We replicated their results, finding that young pet dogs in the US also prefer the color 💛yellow💛.
