And yet the only moral panic is about ebikes.
Need more details. And a picture.
Map of the Netherlands that shows existing intercity routes (in green), planned and funded routes (in yellow), and routes now being planned for implementation (in gray) in the next 5 years.
The Dutch will double intercity bike routes in the next 5 years, from 1100 to 2300km.
Every city has local routes: Utrecht, for example, has 420km of separated bike lanes & bike streets. 𝘿𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙨𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙚𝙨 allow people to safety go by bike throughout NL.

Fake steering wheel. Four wheels, not two. Side-by-side seating. But it has those things that cycling purists love: pedals.
Jack Reacher doesn't really have a job. He just wanders into trouble. 😆

Wanted to try lime’s pedal-free ebike but it has a flat. Pretty well graffitied too.
This is the future of transport: effortless bikes. Needs a nice big wide saddle, and not a narrow size 18 shoe to sit on. Needs a rear rack that can also convert to a second seat (see Rivian).
Twenty is plenty.
OPINION by Craig Davis: Come on, where’s the love for e-bikes? E-bikes are inexpensive, safe and sustainable — a modern transportation marvel that makes cycling available to the masses. So why are they seemingly so misunderstood and misrepresented?

Some of the most alarmist takes on Rad's limited battery recall are coming from pedalers who have never liked that Rad (or anyone) sells bikes with throttles. They would rather see 1% of the population pedaling than 100% of the population using throttle-powered bikes to get where they want to go.
*For a select few who have batteries with THAT serial number. Any Federal agency under Trump deserves skepticism. Anti-China/rare earths/battery tech politics play a large part here. Our family's two Rads both run great (3 years now?) and we have zero concerns.
Maybe lead with that. 😐
To be fair, only some of Rad's batteries are affected. Only those w/ the RP-1304 and HL-RP-S1304 serial numbers. See also Rad's stmt to CPSC:
it's really funny how good ebikes are in contrast to how bad electric motorcycles are
COP30 on two wheels: Jet e-scooters transport delegates in Belém.
As the UN summit gets into full force, Kazakh micromobility operator Jet has deployed hundreds of e-scooters to transport delegates in Belem, Brazil.

I have been waiting for this Rivian ebike for so long, and it is finally here! Some really cool innovations (swappable seat/rear-end!) but only one major flaw: it still has pedals. Pedal by wire is perfect absurdity; it separates effort from transport ... and then makes you do both. v2.0 won't have.
Today, the world became too much, so I resorted to something I used to do more often, which is take photos of the cargo bike on infrastructure I enjoy.
“I got it because I do, like, eight or nine hours a day, and if I’m only pedalling I’m going to get more tired. An e-bike makes it more comfortable.”
"That Lectric e-bike is awesome, by the way."
I’m willing to entertain critical discourse about e-scooters and e-bikes if it is substantially and accurately in a frame of “in order for more people to get around without a car, we should…”
"Demand for street legal carts is surging despite complaints from drivers; ‘We all hate you’."
Motorists hate other motorists, golf cart folks, people on bikes, pedestrians, and transit vehicles. Maybe it's time we consider that the problem on our streets are the motorists themselves.
