“Christianity is the problem” isn’t decolonizing. It’s an oversimplification

Colonialism used religion as a tool. It’s not the same thing as faith itself

Blaming all Christianity is no different than how some people blamed all Islam after 9/11, instead of understanding how extremism works

Your Ancestors don’t want you to be tending altars while you’re ignore sleep, meals, being dehydrated, or not addressing your personal boundaries.

Tending to Ancestors while neglecting yourself isn’t devotion; it’s depletion dressed with Colonial piety.

They want you to be sovereign first.

To the Over-Giving Matriarch:

You are allowed to say no
without explaining yourself.

You are allowed to discipline
without remorse.

over-giving is not love.

It is survival adaptation
dressed up as
“I am a good mother” devotion.

You are allowed to live
without sacrificing yourself.

She chose survival.

And somewhere between then and now, Survival became personality.

Low Country descendants still weave.
Still carry the Ancestors’ hands, prayers, and messages.

Black-governed spiritual spaces.

Spiritual governance came first,
before choosing a religion.

without skipping self responsibility.

Anything promising relief without that
is lying.
