The rain finally stopped for us too (Northern Rivers). This is the view from the spa 😘

It’s been raining up here in the Northern Rivers for pretty much four years. And that includes the floods and a cyclone. It’s just insane. We’re all so sick of it up here

Or you could try living on a farm and doing two solid weeks of fencing 😀

Old shoe lasts from India. Teak, around 100 years old.
Repurposed as coat hooks. Just polished and photographed, these beauties will be coming to our market stall next weekend #crafts #decor

I’m going to be honest, it was touch and go.

Came home from dinner to two things…overproofed dough and a Red Belly Black snake in the house. What an interesting night #sourdough #baking #homestead #farmlife #snake

Australian here. We love Mexico and we love Mexicans. You're some of the hardest working people in the world. Maybe it's time to start making Mexico a superpower. I'd love to see that

Well that's not true

Could or couldn't?

Australian here. As far as we (and the rest of the world) are concerned, you're an absolute numpty dickhead

This pretty well sums up my morning routine waking up on a farm in the Australian subtropics #farmlife

My Phoenix once came home from a kennel stay and he wasn’t well. Spent an afternoon eating grass, which really worried me. He never threw it up. A day later he just passed a giant grass turd (which must’ve scoured him out completely) and then he was completely fine after that.

My entire harvest of pecan nuts this year. Let’s face it, it’s better than no pecans. And it’s probably six more pecans than you have

A beautiful day for a surf with a storm just offshore

Interesting. So maybe not the fix I was hoping for.

The fact is, in a rural area subject to extreme weather events, we need a reliable means of maintaining coms. I don't want to buy Starlink...but I also can't afford to be cut off from the outside world for seven days or longer (as just happened)

A European Starlink rival's shares skyrocketed 390% in a week — here's why Shares of French satellite operator Eutelsat gained over 550% in a three-day rally last week.

Our neighbour has Starlink, kept coms all the way through the ordeal of cyclone Alfred. And we are thinking of putting it on...but I am not giving money to Musk, ever. So I'm going to hold out for Eutelsat, a rival European company, with the added bonus of supporting their commitment to Ukraine

After a week of no power or coms, it's all back on thanks to the incredible effort of Essential Energy who worked around the clock to get us reconnected after cyclone Alfred.

We still have no phone service, but that's Vodafone for you. We'll be changing providers...once we can use the phone again

Not feeling safe right now. Power keeps going off and back on. Whole house creaking and groaning. Wind gusts picking up. Like crazy wind. Like it’s alive out there

Shit getting real. Power out. Power back on. Didn't expect it to happen so early in the piece. We're going to be filling water jugs and buckets, we won't have enough fuel to outlast Alfred

Up until half an hour ago we were just hunkering down. This morning the sun was out and although the wind was ferocious, I actually went out and did some gardening. Only for an hour or so but boy did it feel surreal. We also went for a walk.

But suddenly, just like a switch being flipped, it’s here
