Liberal Democrats get things done. We don’t do division. We do potholes and police officers, church roofs and clean rivers.

We focus on the local issues that matter to you.

Vote Liberal Democrat on 7th May.

Families are paying more to travel, because of a war they didn’t start and don’t support.

The Liberal Democrats are calling for an emergency transport package to cut costs and keep Britain moving by road and rail.

A Reform UK graphic announcing the defection of Cllr. Clarence Mitchell, from the Conservatives.

We see that Reform UK continues to be a retirement home for failed Conservatives, as erstwhile RBC Tory leader Clarence Mitchell defects to them.

A shameful, if predictable, move for the former press spokesperson for Cambridge Analytica. We wonder how long his Ukraine lapel pin will last?

Thames Water tried to make MP pay its legal fees of up to £1,400 an hour Exclusive: Charlie Maynard accuses the utility of ‘retaliation’ over his push for government to gain control of company

Thames "Water" is HQ'd here in Reading #RdgUK - we are appalled at their approach to @libdems.org.uk MP @charliemaynard.bsky.social for daring to stand up to them.

It is past time that this cartoonishly-awful company was held to account and made a Public Benefit Corporation.

Another good week of local elections for the @libdems.org.uk including for our neighbours in Hart - well done to @alexkbrewer.bsky.social and team!

Its clearer than ever that we're the only party that can consistently stand up to Reform, rather than folding like napkins as Lab and Con are. 👇

Ming's leadership in opposition to the Iraq War and ID cards, against discrimination, and support for same-sex adoption, led to many of our current members joining the party in the first place. He was an honest and kind politician, and he'll be missed by many.

With this latest defection, the big news is that Reform are now on 5 MPs, the same number they had after the General Election. They seem to have adopted the government's "1 in, 1 out" policy.

'We approached political parties who wanted to join us at Pride earlier this year and asked them to first demonstrate tangible, local commitments to protecting and advancing trans rights, as well as safeguarding practical EDI initiatives.

'From discussions held over the last few months, Trustees have agreed that the Green Party and Liberal Democrats are welcome to attend as allies in recognition of their positive support, in contrast to Labour and the Conservative parties.'

We're delighted and humbled that @readingprideuk.bsky.social have decided we, along with the local branch of the Green Party, can attend Reading #Pride in #RdgUK this summer. 🧡💚

We'll see everyone there in a month's time - but we're in the fight for LGBT+ equality for the long haul. 💪

Portrait photographs of three smiling men, surrounded by greenery and yellow flowers.

Five years ago, the murders of David, James and Joe shocked Reading, and the world.

They were kind, popular members of our community taken from it far too soon. Today, Reading remembers them. Each of them made Reading that much better, and they are deeply missed.

Love from us to all who knew them.

Tweet from Alex Wickham: "NEW: The White House says US tariffs on UK steel and aluminium will remain at 25% for now

The UK has failed to get the 0% tariffs promised in the US ‘deal’ last month implemented in time for tomorrow

Still, all other countries will be hit by 50% tariffs

So everyone’s a loser"

We’ve gone from 25% steel tariffs, to 0%, up to 50%, and now back to 25%.

We’ve all seen this routine before. Trump causes chaos, Nigel nods along, and British workers pay the price.

It’s time the government got serious about trade with our European and Commonwealth allies.

People have rightly been asking what we mean when we say we @libdems.org.uk need to 'do better' or 'step up' as a party. There's no such thing as 'done' of course - but this is what we're pushing for currently.

This will hardly be cause to celebrate for the millions of Thames Water customers who continue to face eye-watering bills.

The Government must act now and replace Ofwat with a new regulator with real power that can properly hold water companies to account.
