Idk who needs to heart this but nonmonogamy/polyamory/relationship anarchy means you have to be WAY BETTER at all things relational. Yes it is more authentic, there is more freedom, etc, but if you don't do it well you just mess up more people, often simultaneously.

Now here's an encouraging thing: the practice of saying no to social pressure when it is dangerous and maladaptive, is the skill we most need right now, one which will carry over into other discussions, choices, and battles that are on their way or already in progress. Try it and it will get easier.
