I feel like I’ve accomplished something by listening to YES Close to the Edge this morning. It’s all in my head but I’ll take it.
The Wedding Present played a great show in Montreal last night in spite of David Gedge being ill & leaving the stage a few (5?) times, what a trooper
You look alright in that cheap print dress
Yes please
If you are reportedly “sober except for LSD,” & your circle doesn’t know it’s a question of when, not if, it’s all gonna go to sh*t, well, hell, that’s on them
How do I join the Geese street team to help get them noticed?
At least have the sense to post anonymous rebuttals such as: “As if you even know what you’re talking about”
Whatever works
My kid’s school has a record club. They bring a record, talk about it, & then play the whole thing, no skips. Maybe I wouldn’t have hung out in the smoke hole for 5 years if that was an option. Also, maybe I would have been expelled as a result of my selections.
Finally watching the Dépêche Mode M show on Netflix & ngl have not seen their live show since oh, 30 years. Had no idea they tour with a human drummer who is a solid machine. The band still sound top shelf. The behind the scenes production stuff is great too. Unexpectedly captivating. A+
Agree!
Less than 18 hrs until we line up outside the electronics store at 5am for the Boxing Day door-crasher sale on the turntable we’ve been eyeing since July
What kind of a nerd spends the better part of Sunday listening to YES because, Bruford? 😂🫡
What if while listening to something an ex recorded, you realized they are totally off at one point in a pivotal song & someone should have caught it, but you can’t tell anyone because it will sound snarky even though you have total respect for that person’s playing, but you also can’t unhear it. 😂
Is Josh Homme the indie John Mayer? (Rhetorical)
Montreal is so cold right now, I have zero motivation to go outside. I spent 45 minutes on a treadmill today to feel warm, no joke. I can’t just lie around under an electric blanket for the next 5 months.
My age and my Spotify Wrapped age tracks: glorious 64
Yours sincerely, wasting away, bless you Macca.
It’s kind of audacious, I guess, to learn The Unknown Knows but I missed that song. It pops into my head from time to time. The bridge is still a mess but I have most of it down. I don’t think I could play it stoned though, haha
Big shoes to fill
I do not understand 2025
Slide. Slide your fair ass type fare.
May I recommend recordings by Graham Parker to anyone having a day as ridiculous as mine? He’s less pretentious than Joe Jackson & Costello, easy on the ears, side your ass into middle age type fair.
My lunch date is going to be 30 min late & I’m elated, I want to see this person but I am thrilled to get an extra 30 minutes to play the bass with no small talk required. I couldn’t be weirder if I tried.
A month of buckwheat pancakes sucked ass
Ah yes, the golden days of poverty food
No lie, in the 90s in Vancouver there was a spate of rock shows with a $1 door for established touring indie acts. I wish I saved my ticket stubs because it seems impossible now. Arena shows can be $800 now & club shows are up to $100. Mind blown. I’m all for adequate financial compensation, btw.
Doesn’t.. she have her own children??
Do you ever wonder if someone is actually conniving or just super dumb? I always kind of hope they’re artfully plotting and not just dense but alas.
Hahaha!
