The fact that EDM made it to the final the last two years is very fortunate. Buoyed heavily by 97 and 29. They need to make a big, “shocking” move or else they are cooked. The mental toll on 97 and 29 watching such awful play just feeds their discontent, and likely why they aren’t sharp right now.

‘9-10 games in the regular season where Bouchard costs you the game’..?! I’m honestly concerned about you Bouchard lovers. Bouchard played two good regular season games last year. Two. Whatever you guys are smoking, put it down. We aren’t haters. Not sure why we see it so clearly and you don’t.

OMG. Think about benching him?!!Why TF did they sign him?! Everyone knows exactly what he is. He’s not good. Highly skewed stats playing with 97 and 29. It’s insane that people keep burying their heads in the sand. The Oilers are cooked with 25 and 2 on their team. COOKED!

98.7% chance of said turnover happening within his first two shifts of the first game. Adding him to the roster would be the Team CAN brass signalling to the world that they are incompetent, or that CAN has a VERY shallow pool of defencemen to choose from.

Trade Bouchard to Carolina for Chatfield.

Very responsibly played by Bouchard. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Good thing he doesn’t skate like a new born giraffe. 🙄

Bouchard didn’t “ramp up” in 82 games last year. He hasn’t ramped up in the first 4 games this season. He is what he is. He will continue to be a liability, but you will continue to forgive him when he makes one good play every 20 games. He’s not smart. He’s slow. He cannot be trusted.

NGL, I would take Kostin over Lazar every day of the week.

Is “risk” a new gen z term for “has happened already”? My gen x brain can’t keep up.

You need guys like Kostin and Pod on your team. Guys who show up every night and leave it all on the ice. Not guys who make an impact once every 25 games (looking at you Janmark, Brown [buh-bye], and Henrique).

You should have buried the Kostin news deeper in your update. I was so dejected right off the top with you shutting down the rumour of his return that I gave up on the rest of the update. Sorry pal. ☹️ Keep up the good work.

Would 100% be an upgrade over Some roster players. Guy who shows up, busts his ass, and makes a difference every night, even if it’s not on the score sheet. I valued him way above Brown, Arvidudson, Henrique, Janmark, etc. Not sure why fans are so opposed to the idea of Kim returning.

So, let me get this straight. He will play to the value of his contract as long as the NHL calls more penalties and he stops turning the puck over so much. His defence will improve as long as he plays 20 mins a night on the PP. Good grief…

👏🏼. 👏🏼. 👏🏼. 😂 Your boy didn’t even finish top 10 in Norris voting. An 82-game sample size was enough to show voters that he’s no better than Sanderson or Harley. I hope he has a great season and proves me wrong, but I feel like he’s going to make a lot of fans unhappy at $10.5m.

If that were true, it wouldn’t matter because EDM mgmt has never been accused of managing their personnel effectively. Proof: they signed Josh Brown(?!). EDM play 11&7 often enough. Pay Barrie $1m to be the PP1 guy, limited ice, use the other $9.5m(!) to get 1-2 guys who can actually PLAY DEFENCE.

Tyson Barrie would lead the playoffs in scoring if he was still PP1 and playing with two of the most gifted offensive players in the game. Points on the PP don’t stop the other team from making you foolish in your own end. He looks like a lost child at the mall looking for his parents.

You, kind sir, are in that illustrious 10%. Also, bears do eat beets. 😉

Me and 90% of the Oilers fans I know agree with what he said. The other 10% cannot reconcile in their minds that Bouchard doesn’t bring anything the team needs to get past a team like FLA. Now, EDM is paying him a whole lot more to be a defensive liability every night.

They didn’t need to sign him before July 1st, did they? Anyhow, I really don’t care. Making him one of the highest paid defencemen is nuts. A liability the ice every game. Unless he figures out how to play in his own end, his next contract will be half this, at best.

Hate it, but it was always going to happen. Massive overpay for someone who can’t play his position, but his stat line benefits from playing with two elite players. The rest of the league knows the truth, which is why there wasn’t even a sniff of an offer sheet.

I was hoping that someone would offer sheet him…apparently the rest of the league’s GMs know the truth about this player and wouldn’t dare spend this kind of money on him.

They were never on the same page all season. Honestly, the fact they made it this far was a surprise, based on how disjointed and poor they played all season. Wrong pieces. No cohesion. There needs to be significant changes in the offseason.

Absolutely outclassed on and off the ice. Edmonton management needs to make some bold moves this summer, but I fear they will make the lazy ones which will do nothing to improve. If they sign #2 to a 10.5m contract, that is a massive step in the wrong direction and the wrong signal to #97.

This song…incredible. Thanks for bringing it back to my ears.

You’re 100% correct. I first heard it as an 11 year old white Canadian kid when my brother bought the album after was released in 1990, but you were already fighting the power for many month by that time. Keep up the good work!

I was 11 years old and this is the song that completely transformed how I experienced music. Listening to it today gives me the same feelings it did when I first heard it 35 years ago.

Absolute banger. ❤️

Bouchard has had 83 games after the SCF loss to learn to play defence. He has elected not to learn or improve. Any success they have in these playoffs will not be because of his play. It will be in spite of his play.
