The implicit media consensus is that urban voters should not be able to overrule rural voters, but that rural voters should be able to overrule urban voters, an assumption so axiomatic and unquestionable that nobody even understands they're making it.

“Prairie Harm Reduction gave so much more than it ever cost. It gave life. Community. And respect. Again and again. That, at the very least, deserves our grief, our anger, and our demand for a province that does better than this.”
Banning algorithmic pricing ought to be a no-brainer call for any government: people don’t like to be ripped off, surveilled, or treated differently from their peers.
Algorithm pricing does all three of those things.

Thanks to a huge solar array and a 3.4 MWh battery, this California EV charging station doesn’t need a grid connection.

It’s Easter Break. Happy Easter to those who celebrate. It’s time for reading and script studying. Finished this one today: “Future’s Edge” by Gareth L. Powell. It’s a good one.
The criminally low corporate tax rate says so much about why the federal and provincial governments of all political stripes are drowning in debt.
Artemis II sent a pic of the beautiful garden planet we are too greedy, lazy, short-sighted, and ungrateful not to destroy:
A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)
More context on this #Artemis II image:
* This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right
* The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon:
