My friend Maya and I made a short poetry film last year. I did the music and one of the voices. Check it out.

Idk what I expected but it was *not* that opening scene lol. Got us sweating and raising a fist at the same time.
Was also not expecting a moment of dishwasher euphoria (& it was earned).
I hope that this strange and sexy tone in ep 1 of Solari continues.
My intent on this site is still primarily to talk about fun stuff that I'm into. The heavy world stuff is addressed elsewhere.
But for now I'll say I'm proud of my state for doing what its leaders have not. And for living an example of what other states can do, when the nightmare comes to them.
Nice work, NYC
I'm gonna wait a lil while longer before posting about "Sinners" but it's *def* worth your time.
The depth of worldbuilding, thought and lyrical description called forth in that moment is truly, truly remarkable.
He easily could have just said "you uncover a Modify Memory spell," but he would clearly not be that cut and dry lol.
This is an example of why this campaign is such a rich listen.
I've been revisiting earlier episodes of @worldsbeyondnumber.bsky.social and *have* to give a shoutout to ep 33.
Minutes 40-47, featuring Brennan and Aabria (and Taylor's 🔥🔥 music) contain probably the most stunning improvised narration I've heard to date.
For no reason at all: this song is called "Bumbling Shithead Fascists" and it's about how the worst people in the world are not evil geniuses; they're just evil: liars and cowards and dork-ass busybody bullies.
These are scary times, but they're also energizing: we have villainy worth crushing.

Without spoilers, I'll just say that this latest episode was particularly pleasing (by the end). Lou had the right idea for suuuure.
I'm also curious how Ame and the Fox emotionally move forward as a tandem after this. Lots there to potentially unpack and explore.
Y'all. This "Warriors" soundtrack. I'm now on my 3rd or 4th listen. I liked it enough at first, but then listened to Davis and Miranda on a few interviews, and that context made it even better.
I would love to see a film version. Maybe animated with "Arcane" vibes. It's really fkn good.

I'm thinking about trying letter locking as an occasional hobby. I rarely handwrite letters, so it was even more meaningful when I did. Might as well get some old timey tools and make it even more of a thing.
Still researching so we'll see.
I like storytelling

I’m at TruArtSpeaks’ ReVerb open mic at Flava Cafe tonight. Host Mally kicking it off now.
If you’re lookin to share something, or just to hang out and listen, it’s every Thursday, 6-8pm, University & Dale. Always good energy.
As a hurricane survivor, I know that the hardest part of a natural disaster is the realization that you are often truly on your own.
4) When a plague hits, it's really hard to keep all your clothes on
5) You can finally confess to your partner that *you* started the whole monstrous situation and then convince them it's their fault
6) Never trust your boss when you show up late and they randomly give you a raise
1) Beware the dangers of signing a bad contract
2) Even the supernatural can risk it for the biscuit
3) A truly passionate relationship is literally demon time
After seeing #Nosferatu last night, here are some takeaways they definitely did not intend:
And I know that certain outcomes seemed definitive, but when you don't see 100% confirmation, So And So might not frfr be dead. So maybe we'll see.
Also in one of the later episodes, in an alternate timeline, Echo broke my fkg heart with just one line 😭 #iykyk
Finished season 2 last night. To their credit, the character I was feeling bad for earlier did still have a presence. Somewhat. I feel the same but that was *something* 🤷🏾♂️
The visuals were MVP for me. And the 1 v 1 showdown on the bridge was *inspired*. Hell yeah to that scene.
...is when a character with extremely little screentime or even cursory relationship development with *any* other character is literally annihilated for plot purposes. That character deserved way the fk better. But also relationship-wise they hella deserved better. (eye roll at the writers for that)
Just finished season 1 of Arcane. Whewwww. Where do they go from here? (I'll start season 2 soon.)
Mixed feelings about the ending but I'll give it time to settle. But one beef I do have...
I know that soon a different campaign setting will be the focus. Which is cool bc I also fks with outer space as an expanded aspect of nature. But I'm deeply grateful for this current world, and the personal ways each character engages with it. I feel so seen in this one. And I see *it* right back.
It's not about rainbow vibes and universal holdings of hands. Power still threatens. Greed still corrupts. Wigs still get fatally snatched. But this all happens in a world that feels more wholistic and truthful than we allow our own to be.
One of the main reasons I fk with it so much (besides the high level production, roleplaying commitment, team chemistry and gameplay) is the world they created, where it's a true and open (and often flatly dangerous) coexistence of spirit and mortal worlds.
I was pretty late to the D&D podcast @worldsbeyondnumber.bsky.social but once I was in, I was in deep. Now that I'm caught up on the episodes, it's strange having to *wait* multiple weeks for the next one. But I do, gladly.
Imagine a little Black kid hearing "Daughter" and on some level believing that all musical roads are open to them. Without question. Bc there should've never *been* such a question.
More later, maybe.
On one hand we could say that Bey has all the resources in the world. But putting those resources into something like *this* is meaningful.
