Yo that Digimon/Pokemon one is so sick! Appreciate you tracking down more references for it! I think it's really cool!

30 issues remain to be catalogued for the IDW run of Sonic for @thevideogamelibrary.org . Not sure if this is a common gimmick for comics to do covers that line up across different issues, but I thought this was a cool touch.

Reading this reminds me of how I felt playing Super Mario 3D Land where I wish I was just playing a 2D platformer. Great review! Really sad to hear this might be a skip for me, or at least wait for a deeper discount since I LOVE Super Meat Boy.

Cover of Sonic The Hedgehog #50 (Tyson Hesse variant) is a giant grid of rectangles. Each of them showing Sonic in different poses like they're frames of an animation. It shows him landing from a flip, starting to run before sliding to a halt, then starting up a run again before jumping into a ball and then landing and bouncing again.

Cover of Sonic The Hedgehog #50 (Jonathan Gray variant) shows a border featuring dozens of different Sonic characters. The middle in the background shows what looks to be an old black and white Sonic comic. Also drawn in the middle in the foreground is Sonic and Tails posing. Along the bottom of the border is Dr Eggman and Dr Starline with evil looks looking towards the reader, between them is Surge and Kit with electricity and water around them.

Since I posted about IDW's Sonic #75, thought I'd post my favourite covers from #50 as well since I just finished cataloguing it. www.thevideogamelibrary.org/book/sonic-t...

A lot of ppl who enjoyed our Bulk Slash project missed this one, but it greatly benefitted from all we learned on the former. SASS is, if not the Saturn's *best* 3D game, certainly its *most* 3D game. And @silos.bsky.social 's Mission Stick implementation makes it the best Mission Stick game imo.

Aw thanks man! It was an honour being part of the team in a small way, still think it's the thing I've done that I'm most proud of.

Transparency of information and trying to make it clear how things work so people can make more informed decisions is one of the reasons I voted for you. Thank you!

One of the weirdest things about documenting so many Sonic comics is learning about so many different non-game characters that exist. There's like 75 characters on one of the alternate covers for issue 75.

Trying to make a tool for my city where you can easily sift through voting records, and I'm challenged trying to figure out how to automatically sort out things like "vote to end today's meeting at 4:27pm" with universal approval.

Drivers almost hitting me as I cross the street might actually be a good thing because my heart rate spiking makes it look like I put more effort into my run than I actually did.

Thank you GOAT! You've had a killer year, can't wait to see what's next.

Loved what you said towards the end about the game's message almost acting as a metaphor for what's happening to it, I never thought of it that way. The conversation from randoms online who would follow Valve off a cliff and are crucifying the creators is rough to watch.

Excellent piece as always.

Just listened to it now, you killed it on this one! Awesome follow up to "Atomic Girl" which is still in my regular rotation. This one is getting added to the rotation as well for sure.

Same treatment that Vile got. This sucks.

But hey, at least "Talented Exorcist Won't Submit to Tentacle Demon" has only family friendly content so Valve allowed that one through.

As far as I'm concerned if you live here and you feel like you vibe with the people and acceptance of cultures that I think is core to Canadian values, you're Canadian to me. Welcome to the crew.

Sorry to hear, not the first artist I've wanted to see who has to cancel due to border issues. Still determined to catch you guys live one day, much love!

Obviously no other boomer shooter looks like this, but the game feels pretty unique as well. At least in the demo, rooms are pretty small and cramped, but you're still trying to fly around while visual sensory overload happens around you.

It's really fun. I'm glad it's landing so far.

Big Shots
Big Shots YouTube video by Eyedea & Abilities - Topic

24 years ago today Eyedea & Abilities released "First Born". If you played Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 you might remember "Big Shots" from this album being on the soundtrack. It's kind of a weird song on an album about philosophy and mental illness, but I love it all the same. youtu.be/JpEdD1-6zOo?...

Playing Halo 4 and seeing the Chief/Cortana love story going on is really weird in 2025.

I hate AI as much as the rest of you, but weirdly it's inspired me to try and make stuff just so my life will never be surrounded by stuff I hate.

Don't get me wrong I'm new and bad, so everything I make I ALSO happen to hate, but at least it's by a person.

Kevin Vanord (@ fiddlecub here) has been recently trying to switch to Linux and has posted a couple threads. He was using PopOS, and other than installation issues and a few games seeing performance drops, he said it's been pretty good.

I'm such a sucker for old amusement park stuff. My local one just put out some of their old stuff and while I have no idea why a mammoth would stand on a rotating barrel, I kinda dig it.

Congrats legend! Incredible run with Digital Trends, your pieces there were my favorite in the industry the last couple years. Wherever you're headed now is incredibly lucky.

Agreed. Their double acronym plus the most generic genre description in games irks me beyond belief. Then calling it a spiritual successor instead of a sequel when it's a literal sequel, I was about to pull my hair out.
