I know they look a little scary, but they actually don’t harm humans at all. They’re really important for the ecosystem of the garden and can actually help deter more destructive pests!
Them showing up means you’re gardening well, and it’s a positive sign other interesting beasties are on the way!
Irn Bru!
(Why am I like this)
I have a red carpet photo from the BAFTAs burning it’s way through my phone!
Early on in Old Skies I wrote a short dialogue where Fia explains to a client what her and Nozzo’s relationship is- he’s strategy, she’s practical.
The rest of the game (no spoilers) shows how wrong she is in that perception, + helps the player understand she doesn’t understand herself yet.
Anyone else having problems with uploading photos?
This is so vital: character through action/behaviour!
It also adds an extra opportunity: to show the difference between how the character views themselves vs who they really are in the world.
I was there with my walking stick! Bluesky is being a pain about posting photos, but as soon as it lets me I will post my red carpet stuff.
As far as I could see, there was one wheelchair user, one crutch user and me (I think the only one masking) but happy to be wrong…
Thrown together a meal almost guaranteed to cause indigestion: baked beans, garlic bread and hot dogs.
I’m calling it GERD Dinner.

An image of Sally Beaumont, a white woman with long dark hair who is wearing a floral dress and a black face mask. She is pointing behind her at a screen showing a photo of herself in a red dress, with the caption “BAFTA Breakthrough UK supported by Netflix 2025” on the left and “Sally Beaumont lead voice actor narrative & script consultant & additional writing” on the right.
The surreal moment at the BAFTA Games Awards champagne reception and behind me is…me!
The other trick we used was to perform the dialogue out loud, as if we were doing bits to each other. You will instantly identify clunky dialogue as soon as you run into it, and this helped us make the lines feel more natural and conversational.
Anyone know of any UK-based pixel art animators looking for freelance work this year? Asking on behalf of a friend's project!
In particular we'd love to see more mentors from:
Art (any type)
Narrative/Writing
Voice Acting
Journalism
Legal
Idk who did this comic but it's hilarious
I’ve been waiting for a “British Janet” role to come up and… this makes sense why I was cast as an Aeldari.
It's been two years since the release of Harold Halibut, forever changing the course of my life.
My first ever 10 out of 10 review, the warm reception afterwards, my podcast with its lead writer...
Happy 2nd Anniversary Harold Halibut!
Tim Curry in The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Tim Curry in Clue
Tim Curry in The Three Musketeers
Tim Curry in Muppet Treasure Island
Happy 80th birthday to Tim Curry who has always, *always* understood the assignment.
"Are videogames art?"
Clearly someone hasn't seen the orgy room in Earth Must Die
I play the door.
Yesterday was the two year anniversary of the BAFTA-nominated Harold Halibut!
I’m so honoured to have been part of Slow Bros odyssey under the sea, providing the voices for an entire alien race, and of course Weeoo.
I cannot wait to see what they do next…

Two years ago today, Harold set off on his voyage aboard the FEDORA. 🫧
Thank you to every player, streamer, and fan who made this handcrafted little world feel alive. It only exists because you cared about it.
And don't worry, we're not done telling stories. 👀
Hello to everyone I met at the Nominees party and the BAFTA game awards! I really enjoyed meeting you all, and I’ll be in touch soon- I just need to eat crisps in a very quiet room for 4-7 business days first.
Thank you!
I bet the lavenders were tiny little ones that got pruned each year, and nicely surrounded the much larger rose. And then time took over!
At AdventureX someone said I looked like Santa because I was wearing red and it sort of looks like a beard- I quite liked that comparison!
Thank you! Largely people have been lovely or just curious about it…and a lot of Hannibal Lecter jokes.
I guess I’ll just have to make my personality more imposing…😬
Thank you!
I’m still really nervous about masking at networking events. I use a windowed mask which only comes in white, so I think it feels more imposing than my black ones.
I suppose I could bring a pen and get it autographed? /s
I’m going to the BAFTA games Nominees party tomorrow!
Very exciting and nerve wracking in equal measure- would appreciate seeing a friendly face or two!
