Hi everyone, I am a PhD researcher looking into the experience of trans people who follow a men's professional football club in England or Wales.
A badge of shame, especially given where we used to place. Much of the blame rightly goes to the Johnson-Truss-Sunak governments but Labour have only made things worse (and are not showing much sign of recognising that and changing course).
In the report, the UK takes up 7-pages. By contrast, Russia, which calls the promotion of LGBTQ+ as 'propaganda', is 3½ pages, and Hungary, which has actively legislated against trans rights and the promotion of LGBTQ+, is 6½ pages. 1/2
"Hate crime and hate speech on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics are prohibited in [...] and the UK."
Not in practice, they aren't.🙄
