A goofy animation for your face, it's called "Home"
Music is a deep cut by Trimmo (recently on the NPR list of best albums released April 17th, just saying)

Ten Years in Oakland. The next chapter starts with You. Quest foundation challenge: Meet the match by 5/10! A fundraiser for Chapter 510, a writing center in Oakland, CA
Hey! Chapter 510, where I have helped kids write and also drawn illustrations with and for them for years, has a great matching challenge opportunity.

Next design research workshop on April 30th. If you work for an organization that actually wants to improve material conditions for people, and wants to get better at informed decision-making, it's a good time.

So I went to Buttondown and they migrated me easily and it's just simple and there's no "growth" selling just some nice pointers via email sometimes, and an easy interface.
All I wanted was to easily share my comics, I didn't want all that other baggage and the actual harm was a deal breaker
And then I found out they literally profit by allowing (and promoting!) nazi and other material on there, things that materially harm people every day
But then they started pushing "growth" really hard and it started feeling like a pyramid scheme and I didn't want any of that - the "consultants" charging to help you "grow" - it all felt really skeevy
At first, it seemed like an easy platform that looked nice. I wasn't focused on all the social/"growth" stuff 🧵

@stereogum.com says: "Flood" reminds me a lot of Alex G at his most country or Phil Elverum at his most pop, full of memorable hooks steeped in eerie, lo-fi production."

ChatGPT: you’re right you’re so much smarter than him. He’s so schlubby and you’re so suave. Columbo will never catch you.

A public service from Derf.
Wow
A couple seats left this week. Useful, enjoyable, not at all terrifying. A human artist got paid for that demon.
