Oh, that's ironic-the work on climate change billionaire made his money on coal? Ha

*thinks on my rural living 100 yo grandfather afraid to put up Harris sign because he was worried on what would happen, and my father living nearby who put the sign by an electrical poll so folks would drive onto his yard to knock down the sign*

My feet and knees remind me of why the majority of convention volunteers are young

Weirdly, an over reaction on both sides as progressives are talking about hiw they cleaned house (when a goodly portion were relatively consensus choices) and you covered the centrist overreaction. Also, if you go on Zs FB, his most recent post reads like a "why the party left me" cliche...

With the exception of the UM Regents race, the actual voted on contests (as US Senate wasn't voted on) were pretty respectful and the favorites pretty much won everything except AG

I will add a modern corollary to this: parts of this party hate each other more than they hate Republicans. So, unlike Clinton, these can also be elbows thrown at internal factions you dislike

Garlin Gilchrist was backed by both progressive groups and labor (though I did see some progressive leaders volunteering with Suzanna Shkrelis campaign), WSU were backed by Labor and Progressives, and the MSU Trustees were incumbents.

Post convention statement (a thread):

Outsideof Savit beating out MacDonald there were relatively few surprises. While folks might view Makled over Acker as a surprise, the late breaking scandal &Ackers lack of presence arguably made Makled the favorite. Almost every other choice was the favorite

I agree with you, though if we go by endorsements she has the backing of a lot of Building and Trades locals (as well as Unite Here for some reason)

It was.a.good convention results wise, despite the wait (and with my proviso that I disliked both UM options not named Paul Brown).

Well, I'm pretty happy with the convention-indeed I gathered signatures and was there with a sign for, I belive the 1st, for Kelly Tebay Zemke for MSU Trustee. Paul Brown got renomed, I supported Mack and Akeel and Gilchrist and was pleasantly surprised at Savit winning.

*yes* I think I was the only repeat non relative volunteer for Tebay from 2018. And if she goes in 2034, I'll do it again

*yes* personally sawnsome of the UAW local 1979 (WSU employees) folks I know volunteering to gather signsturesnfor Mack, they'd *never* done that before, he must have really impressed them

With both El-Sayed and McMorrow I have big "I'm not worked up to have either win, I just need Haley Stevens to lose" energy...though I acknowledge thisncould change to one or the other

I didn't expect this, then again, Dana Nessel winning the convention in 2018 was considered an upset at the time

...and in 2018 a preceived "too liberal candidate" won the convention against a more conservative choice who had the backing of labor

Qlso that my worry that Brown might lose due to infighting between Acker and Makled plonking each other was...mistaken

There was a *few* signature gatherers I saw after 10:30 and a small and easily missable table at the lowest level near all the other campaign tables.
