I hope this means no more rain or cloudy nights #bayarea Tonight, I would love to take some pictures of the night sky. #astrophography #moon #planets
Wow! I never try that one.. 👍
Today's image of the moon at 12:25 AM. Taken with the Orion Seeker 4" diameter Maksutov-Cassegrain 1300mm focal length. #moon #astrophography
This one is a better image of last night Jupiter

Jupiter and four of its 95 or 97 moons. In this image, we have Io to the east, and Callisto, Europa, and Ganymede to the west. This time, I’m using a Celestron 6SE.

Sunlight takes about 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach Earth. This is the time for photons emitted from the Sun’s surface to travel the average distance of roughly 93 million miles at the speed of light. #solar #astrophotography #bayarea
Images of the sun taken 20 minutes ago #sun #astrophotography
There is definitely no clear sky tonight in the Bay Area, so no viewing of the amazing universe.
Last night’s moon image: Clavius crater (the large crater with smaller ones inside) is roughly 143.5 miles in diameter. Named after astronomer Christopher Clavius, this crater is famously the site of the lunar base in 2001: A Space Odyssey. #astrophography #moon #bayarea
Last night's moon image: Copernicus crater at the center-east edge of Mare Insularum, with Montes Carpatus to the north and Eratosthenes crater on top. #astrophotography #moon #bayarea
Tonight, using the Celestron 6SE and image taken with the ZWO ASI224MC. The big crater is Plato. Plato is a 63-mile-wide lava-filled crater and is on the northeastern shore of the Mare Imbrium. To the right is the Alpine Valley, a lunar valley feature that bisects the Montes Alpes range.
Last night, an image of the moon through my Celestron 6SE using the ZWO ASI224MC camera. #astrophotography #moon #bayarea
Tonight’s moon, there are three craters on the Mare Imbrium, forming almost a triangle. Archimedes is the big one; Aristillus and Autolycus are the smaller craters, and they're north of the Montes Apenninus and West of Montes Caucasus. Using a Celestron 6SE and the ZWO ASI224MC. #astrophography
This afternoon, the sun is showing a lot of activity through the 1980s Meade 1000mm f/11 Cass and Canon DSLR. #astrophography #sun #BayArea
I took this shot of last night's moon with a Canon DSLR and 500mm lens. #moon #astrophography #BayArea
Tonight’s image of the moon. Using a Meade 1,250mm focal length. The classic ETX-90
I went to the drive-through at Wendy’s for lunch, and they put only two napkins in my bag. The employee says it’s company policy - only two napkins per bag 🤷♂️ Ridiculous!
Last night’s image of the moon — I can’t get tired of observing the moon.
I went to Belmont and stopped at Oracle to see the sailboat that won the 33rd America’s Cup.
The sun on March 8 at 5:10 PM.
I know which direction to look to find the center of the solar system.. however, which direction do I look to see the center of the universe? 🤔
Today Sun.. Isn’t it incredible that there are so many things unknown to us in the universe? Including the fact that many people wake up in the morning and go about their daily activities, yet not many realize that without the Sun, nothing would be alive on planet Earth.
There were a few sunspots on the sun this afternoon.
Last night, I photographed the moon using my old Meade 1000mm f/11 Cassegrain with the Canon T3i."
Interesting 👍
Today, I saw only one sunspot on the sun, an airplane flying past, and a few clouds.
While checking the sun for sunspots, an airplane passed by, with clouds visible below.
