Jeez, there’s some pent up anger right there.

I’m sorry, are you suggesting that Mandami is MAGA?

There are some obvious clues when it comes to AI generated code, though.

Regardless, I personally don’t find this new policy too bad. There’s been an uptick in AI generated code in r/rust, which I believe ultimately discourages people from posting anything original for fear of feeling inadequate.

And if any of them are reading this, I want them to know that next time they ask for more money, many of us #Austin parents might not be in favor of it, if nothing else, because of the optics of having given yourselves a massive raise before thinking of what's best for the district.

But if #AISD is telling me that there is not enough money to keep successful public schools running, when the executive team are well above top 5% in the Austin metro area in terms of income, and the superintendent is at top 2%, I'm sorry but I think I know where they should start the cuts from.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for people getting their fair share. I think managing hundreds of schools is no easy task.

The superintendent position went from ~$300,000 in 2023, to $362,000 in 2024. Meaning that while teachers got, at most, a 7% raise, the superintendent and his team got, on average, between 15% and 20%.

Now, I want to point out that people voted in 2024 to increase property taxes to fund AISD, which brought much needed salary increases to teachers in 2025... but also a pretty significant increase for the AISD executive team, in the order of several hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I know many people blame state recapture for this. I do too. And I would agree that it is an undeniable part of the problem.

#AISD closure plans are absolutely maddening. Among other things, they are dead set in moving all dual language programs from full enrollment, high performing schools, to low enrollment, low performing ones, essentially segregating AISD schools and setting the stage to purge successful DL programs.

So, these Freewrite things… they are typewriters, right? Typewriters at $700 a pop or more.

How’s this better than a 1990s laptop with DOS and WordPerfect?

Keebio Keebio - The best place for split keyboards, ergonomic keyboards, and other mechanical keyboard parts. Iris, Quefrency, Sinc, BDN9, and more!

Drop does sell PCBs and cases as well though, e.g. I built my Altv2 from parts from them. But if you are looking for an even more DIY experience, keeb.io is great.

Pretty much everything runs on macOS, so you won’t have issues with that. If you’re looking for customisation and wide support, anything that runs VIA or QMK will do. I personally have a couple keebs from Drop running VIA, and they are quite nice.

I have a keyboard with 78g Zealios and now my fingers are all ripped and look like tiny bodybuilders. You should give it a try.

To compare Ted Lasso comedic value to that of its SNL source, feels a lot like saying that the opening scenes from The Office are the pinnacle of the series.

A comedy show doesn’t need to be funnier than a SNL skit to be good. Laughs are just a part of it.

I watch Ted Lasso for the same reason I watch The Great British Baking Show, The Good Placed, or hell, Forged in Fire. Because sometimes I want something that offers an undertone of good vibes.

Well, I finally ordered a UHK60v2. It only took me 5 years, half a dozen mechanical keyboards, and the cruel realisation that this elbow pain might not have anything to do with lifting weights after all, to pull the trigger.

Hopefully the price tag alone will force me to use it on a daily basis.
