Around 6pm last night was when they removed all of the equipment and he peacefully passed immediately. They made him as comfortable as possible. His family and I got to say our final words and goodbye before they pull the plugged.
During his final days in the hospital, we've learned that a tumor has spread to his brain stem. From that point that's when we knew he wasn't going to make it. Two nights ago he lost the ability to breathe on his own and had to be intubated.
He stayed in the hospital for weeks and all of his vital levels kept spiking to dangerously high levels. He did complete a full week of radiation treatments and was set to have surgery to manually remove the biggest tumor on his brain. Things have just gotten worse at an alarming rate.
He completely lost the ability to speak, swallow, move or just plain function. And the really sad thing is all of this stuff happened within a span of a month. He went from stomach issues to all of these issues seemingly overnight.
He was still having issues, so he then went to ER to get further evaluations. After multiple scans to try and locate the issue, it turns out that his melanoma cancer has returned and has now spread to his brain. He also went through multiple strokes all at once and things only kept going downhill.
At the start of January, he has been dealing with stomach issues non-stop for weeks straight. He could not eat anything without vomiting minutes later. We thought he was just having a really bad case of acid reflex or side effects from his meds. He decided to go to urgent care to get checked out.
HI, @dohnutattack.bsky.social (Crescent's girlfriend) here. I'm at Crescent's apartment right now with his brother and we were able to log into his computer and socials.
I wanted to inform any followers here who are unaware that he has sadly passed away last night from Stage IV Melanoma cancer.
So I did go to an urgent care and it was pretty much what I figured; a real bad case of acid reflux/GERD acting up. Hopefully the meds I got will help get it cleared up before my vacation in a couple weeks.
Good thing I went when I did too as I lost my job yesterday as well. Fun times.
Must have. I usually only come remotely close to that area when I have certain medical appointments to get to. Might have to keep that in mind for the future.
*checks* Huh, there is indeed one. Didn't know that, but I'm not usually in that area either.
Apologies that's I have generally been quiet over the last while. Been dealing with a stomach bug of some kind.
Understandable. If you need an ear though, I'll be around.
Hm, the first TF of the year, eh?👀
It's a cutie!
Using some lovely colors, I'd say.
You go to X to be sad (or potentially angry) lol
The world can always use more Yoshi
Definitely not a bad thing in this case
Sure, here you go! Thank ya for the chance!
Oh this looks superb!
Merry Christmas! It was such a lovely surprise to be greeted with. You did a magnificent job!
Very cute!

In the mood for any specific kinds of games?
Ooh I remember this one. Still such a fun pic to see.
This fox has a proper ref sheet now! This, along with a collection of fun drawings of his various forms done by @sprech4.bsky.social, was given to me by @dohnutattack.bsky.social for Christmas!
If you got an idea of how you want to price your work, maybe making a quick commission info sheet with the prices/examples would be a good way to start with that.
I'd say it's more about with what you are comfortable with when it comes to how you think you can handle any respective workload in a timely manner.
Since you are new to to it, I'd say starting with a few slots at most at first would be a good way to gauge that.
