Theme parks are art, cultural institutions as vital to Southern California as Griffith Park, Dodger Stadium and the Getty.

Already preordered that sucker. 🙌
IT. Fifth grade. My English teacher lent it to me (?!?) and I carried it around school in a brown paper bag. In retrospect, rather sketchy.
If you didn't catch the names in PTA's speech, the 1975 Best Picture nominees are Barry Lyndon, Dog Day Afternoon, Jaws, Nashville, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. There are no skips; there is no wrong place to start. They will make you love American movies anew, and demand the best from them.

Get well soon, King.
No you don’t.
Growing up is realizing you are Calvin’s dad and it’s a good thing.
Had not seen this! Thanks for sharing. So so good.
Unfortunately, I was part of the layoffs today at Meta, and will be seeking a new role.
To my Twisted Pixel Games family: it was an honor to work alongside you for 3.5 years and ship Marvel's Deadpool VR. We made something really special together and no one can ever take that away. ❤️

Rewatched it the other night for the first time in a decade plus. Forgot how utterly (wonderfully) insane it is.
I was just outside having the exact same thought. Has this always been a thing?
Okay I’m having a hard time reconciling this as well.
Co-sign on the Whirley Pop. Life changing. (Really.)
Been thinking about this ARG a lot lately. Not just how unfortunately prescient the concept turned out to be — but how it stuck the landing with the Art is Resistance theme in particular. It could have easily not played but instead it’s got legs nearly 20 years later. You all made something special.
THE ORPHANAGE!
Quote this with the first four Horror movies that come to your mind that are 10/10s for you. No cheating. Just the first four that pop into your head.
The Exorcist
The Thing
Rosemary’s Baby
Audition
Happy 30th birthday to David Bowie's atemporal cyberpunk neonoir murder mystery concept album— an amazingly deft exegesis of the early dream & burgeoning pre-millennial zeitgeist nightmare of the mid-late 90s internet; an album which also somehow proves more prescient by the day.
Here's 1.Outside:
a boxcar with graffiti parody of the nine inch nails album cover art for "pretty hate machine" but it says "nine inch rails pretty freight machine"
what if we kissed on the pretty freight machine
In honor of Robert Redford, everyone is obligated to watch Sneakers tonight.
Right? I can’t tell who exactly is being targeted with which product and why anymore. V strange lineup. (I also miss the mini.)
Exactly my first instinct. Crazy how scary it is just as a still.
I've written about music since I was in high school, and I've been lucky enough to interview plenty of my heroes. But until this month, I never had the opportunity to talk to England's loudest and most punctual band. For the @latimes.com, I sat down with the mighty Spinal Tap.
TIM!!
That set came out _beautifully_.
Huzzah! Congrats Kristin!
