Dear Sir Oswald,
Thank you for your letter and for your enclosures. I have given some thought to our recent correspondence. It is always difficult to decide on how to respond to people whose ethos is so alien and, in fact, repellent to one’s own. It is not that I take exception to the general points made by you but that every ounce of my energy has been devoted to an active opposition to cruel bigotry, compulsive violence, and the sadistic persecution which has characterised the philosophy and practice of fascism.
I feel obliged to say that the emotional universes we inhabit are so distinct, and in deepest ways opposed, that nothing fruitful or sincere could ever emerge from association between us.
I should like you to understand the intensity of this conviction on my part. It is not out of any attempt to be rude that I say this but because of all that I value in human experience and human achievement.
Yours sincerely,
Bertrand Russell

Travelling back from a great week in Copenhagen. Easily the best WindEurope event I’ve attended. Lots of cautious optimism, my favourite kind.

(1/4) Strong leadership means taking risks and trying things - but when it doesn’t work, realising your mistake and correcting it. Quickly.

Interesting to look at 2025 UK prices so far. Food for thought for those considering an AR7 bid this summer.

Looks awful. Wish I could muster the will to read for pleasure again, I lost that somewhere in the pandemic I think.

There’s been so much global discord and antagonism for so long that I found this picture genuinely touching.

On February 8, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia left Russia and Belarus energy system. By the end of the day today, they will have joined the European grid.

❗️🇱🇻Latvia, 🇱🇹Lithuania and 🇪🇪Estonia are no longer dependent on the energy system of the 🇷🇺Russian Federation and 🇧🇾Belarus - the countries have officially disconnected from the Russian energy grid
Now the Baltic countries will be powered by the energy system of Western Europe, connecting through 🇵🇱Poland

It’s sort of insane to think that one of the early outcomes of this Trump presidency is that the entire world is rooting for him-& by extension the US-to fail in a trade war. I get that he enjoys the prospect of people/countries reacting to his actions.. but this seems like an epic miscalculation.
