My wife and I do the bulletin in our ward. We get tired of chasing down upcoming lesson info from our elders quorum presidency. Maybe this'll help.

This is the most amazing book review I’ve ever seen. (A review of @benjaminepark.bsky.social’s American Zion in the latest issue of Wayfare.)

Helped a family move this morning assisted by the elders quorum. All kinds there helping out - TrueBlueMo's, NuancedMo's, ExMo's, AntiMo's, NeverMo's, SoonToBeMo's, YoungMo's, OldMo's, MaleMo's, FemaleMo's, etc. Went great. Good feelings. Was good to serve together. The Essence of Religion.

Nuances aside, I try to act on promptings. I'm usually terrible at it, but I want to believe they're a thing. In the end, you're showing that you care enough about another human being to check in on them.

Yes. Me too. Grant Hardy's "The Annotated Book of Mormon" explains that

Poster hung up in a transom window above a wood door. The text is as follows with the color of the text changing on each line to create a rainbow.

"We need to listen to and understand what our LGBT brothers and sisters are feeling and experiencing. Certainly we must do better than we have done in the past so that all members feel they have a spiritual home where their brothers and sisters love them and where they have a place to worship and serve the Lord."
-Elder Ballard, BYU devotional November 2017

Trib: When did you start to lose faith in the church and why?

JH: Polygamy

Lots of reasons for nuance. Polygamy is a big one.

Make no mistake - [eternal] polygamy is still a core LDS doctrine.

Church: we're gonna die on this hill

I recently helped with a stake service project - not out of obligation or duty, I just wanted to. I chose. And I actually enjoyed it

I missed church yesterday because my wife was ill. At the end of the day I realized I actually felt the miss. Looking forward to next week with a little more zeal.

Intentionality

I've discovered that since reclaiming my personal authority and deciding that I have a right to say "no", it allows me to say "yes" when I want to with more interest and enthusiasm.

This is sad. Lavina is my first cousin once removed but I've never met her (not hard to imagine given that I have 99 first cousins and she's a level up). I had hopes of meeting her at some point.

Trying to remember if it was Joseph that was delusional to believe that, or if it was Brigham who was delusional to claim that. Either way there was delusion.

Yes! But I'm chasing full-on adults - the organist and the "music chairman" (a former bishop) - and still can't get them
