A hundred years ago, the U.S. had a nationwide network of short-line railroads that connected most urban and rural communities. By the 1940s, most of it had been dismantled ... by the barons of the auto and oil industries. 😑

Atomkraft boomt weltweit?

Germany just activated its largest ever solar installation — one farm, 1.5 million homes, zero carbon. The #CottbusSolarPark covers 3,500 hectares and produces 2.1 tw-hours annually, replacing two coal plants that operated on this same land until 2022. #SolarPower #ActOnClimate #Renewables
"We're the biggest producers of oil!"
Great. That means we're the furthest behind in energy. Fighting over a less efficient finite resource cuz rich fucks wanna control everything
The rich can't own and control the source of wind and solar. Thats why they're clinging so desperately to oil
I don’t think we talk nearly enough about the fact that corporations like Amazon, don’t pay a single cent to maintain the roads they use, the transportation system they use, the courts they use, they pay nothing for the infrastructure that is absolutely critical to their business.

EU’s energy crisis response is broader than expected: remote work mandates, heat pump subsidies, EV leasing schemes — plus electrification targets and new laws to tax electricity below fossil fuels.
hmmm, one more industry invested in keeping the fossil fuel industry going strong…
How many of the ships in that fckn Strait of Hormuz might transport fossilFuels and their derivates?
Imagine having a decarbonized and fossilFuels-free economy.
Nobody would care about those two fundamentalist theocracies bullying each other in a stupid war.
More than 40% of ships globally transport fossil fuels. Nearly all of them run on fossil fuels too.
Trostlos. Nicht gut für unser Land.
And what of the US - world’s largest polluter?
With 150GW solar, India achieved its target of having 50% of its total installed electricity capacity from non-fossil fuel sources in June 2025, reaching this milestone 5 years ahead of its original 2030 deadline set under the Paris Agreement www.pv-magazine.com/2026/04/10/i...
It wouldn’t matter if they were - the sCOP would result in less emissions anyway - cleaner generation is just extra gravy.
This is so incredible from Scandinavian perspective that you have to day to day fight against the misinformation on the heat pumps. We can tell, that they are useful even in very hard (cold) conditions.
If fuel oil drops below $3/ga then it's about even for cost (vs $0.20/kWh) depending on efficiency of the furnace.
Even with fossil fuel generated power heat pumps are still environmentally better since they can use the electricity to "move" more heat than the power they consume.
President Carter had solar panels instar in the 70s , Reagan came and removed them all.
Heating oil prices are sky-rocketing around the world.
The Nordics have understood the risks of using fossil fuels for heating early on and transitioned away from heating oil almost entirely whilst phasing in heat pumps.
The US isn’t happy about Canada’s quest for digital sovereignty
The new Shared Services Canada proposal for government providers will mean that US big tech won't be eligible for contracts.
It is a trend many countries are starting to follow. France being the most recent one to do the same 🇨🇦 🇪🇺

Skógafoss in the snow. End of February the amount of visitors is still at a lower level, still the cat park felt full. To me Skogarfoss is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland.

So my heat pump was mistaken this winter when it worked?
My friends in upper Sweden we visited at -18 Celsius also had the problem that his heat pump worked. How could they.
