Brutalist is finally dropping near me this weekend. Then gotta suck it up and watch Emilia. Any idea if/when I'm Still Here is going to get a release?

Pascal Plante's Red Rooms is one of the bigger surprises of 2024. A tightly controlled examination of our darker nature's being nurtured in the Internet age. Juliette Gariépy nails the ambiguity inherent to her inscrutable character. Highly recommended.
Caught Anora last night. Mostly excellent screwball by way of Cassavetes. An often darkly hilarious fairy tale riff that leads to an ending both predictable and necessary. Different than expected and not quite my favorite from Baker, but insightful all the same.
Kicked off the new year right with a trio of terrific 2024 films. Soundtrack to a Coup d'etat, which combined a lot of personal passions and interests. All We Imagine as Light, which gave me a much needed shot of humanity. And The Count of Monte Cristo, a handsome new take on a classic.
