I am thrilled to have my work featured in the Wild Hyacinth Mag.

True to the spirit of the piece, this magazine is a physical act of connection. The editors ensure this “spark” mailed, igniting connection between us all.

It is also a tribute to the public infrastructure (Canada Post) that allows us to counter isolation by delivering a physical manifestation of “home” to a friend’s doorstep.

While a wood stove heats a single room, a letter carries that same essence across communities. The stoves open door is a symbol vulnerability of sending a piece of yourself to another.

Sending Warmth

➡️Swipe to see the “Inspo” vs. “The Art.”

A piece in my series, The Inconvenient Spark. I wanted to honor the “glow” that travels. Sending Warmth places the hearth, the traditional heart of the home, within the iconic borders of a Canadian postage stamp.

There's a brand new DToon cartoon, and a sequel comes if it gets enough views. Its like 15 seconds, what have you got to lose?

You can find this work in the newest issue of Wild Hyacinth. Every issue is a piece of the “inconvenient” path. Curated with care, and hand-mailed from Nova Scotia. The editors are like the warmth from the candles on a cozy evening, providing you a good read, and connection across distance.

Like a Moth to a Light refers to that restless instinct… an attraction to a light source that offers no warmth. In this work, the glow of the candles is sidelined for the cold light of a screen. It’s a visual commentary on how convenience-driven culture promises connection but delivers isolation.

Moth to a Light
the “Inspo” vs. “The Art.”

This piece is part of my series, The Inconvenient Spark, an open letter to the places and connections we’ve lost to the “ease” of modern life.

I am honored to have this series officially featured in the latest issue of Wild Hyacinth.

This magazine itself is a testament to that enduring spirit. Published in Canada and hand-packaged with care in Nova Scotia, it is a physical piece of community you can hold in your hands.

The narrative explores a difficult friction: withering public infrastructure & vibrant people within the systems. The house is a vessel; crumbling yet the light within of community spirit which cannot be dimmed. It is a legacy passed on continuing to ignite even in the most neglected “Third Spaces.”

Space Alight: the “Inspo” vs. “The Art.”

One of three pieces in my series “The Inconvenient Spark”

A commentary on the fragility of our shared environments. Space Alight centers on a weathered house in decay, a visual inspired by the loss of local landmarks (like Centre Consolidated School)

A large sheet of white poster board taped to a light blue wall with bright green painters tape. On the poster board there is multiple colors of markers sketching a lyre. Several swatches of green and patterned fabrics are hanging on the left and right of the poster board. A small handmade lyre made of fabrics sits on the left side of the image above the fabric scraps.

Giving a little sneak peak 👀

Right now it may be some scraps and a sketch pinned to a wall right now, but it’s the vision of something awesome to come.

I’m so thankful my collection of green scraps and thrifted fabric flow so well together.

Between my grant art project, personal projects, my full-time job, and social time, I’ve somehow squeezed in something exciting.

A rare thoughtful statement about Irish and Irish diasporic history on a day that has become a gross celebration of binge drinking and cultural stereotypes.

Yes, I usually rely on rule of cool whenever possible.

The challenge is my PCs are quite a bit broken and don’t love having fatal flaws.

Regardless if they are downed they’d be downed, sticking saves them is fall damage at 0 so it’s a tricky decision.

Christy I appreciate you so deeply.

I was leaning towards falling because they, and I quote, “don’t have sticky grippers”.

The second opinion is very very appreciated and will be cited in rules lawyer court next session.

I fear they homebrewed a badass with a fatal flaw- gravity when downed.

I’m about to have to create a Reddit account to get internet strangers advice on this question

My next session is Sunday and my baby DM ass is not prepared to tell my ex-forever DM now PC (who was also stumped) that the internet didn’t prevail

So, I’m a DM & I’m stumped.

D&D question: A PC is homebrewed, with spiderclimb as an innate ability (climb speed = walk speed). If they were on the ceiling and downed; would they fall to the ground due to going unconscious; or stick to the ceiling?

I’m just appreciative of any other DM feedback

To our MLAs: Please, have the courage to vote NO. Don’t let this be the generation that stays silent while the threads of our province are cut.

My heart ached as I stood with the arts, recreation, and heritage sectors. They heard the noise from the house, and we know our voices reached the floor. Now, we wait for the courage of our elected MLAs to vote NO on these cold-hearted cuts.

Our heart is in the programming
❤️It’s the youth looking for joy and a sense of place.
❤️It’s the seniors who rely on community programming for mental and physical wellness.
❤️It’s the 7,500 non-profits that act as the invisible threads holding our province together.

Yesterday, I brought my art to the doorstep of Province House. I made this quilted banner to reflect my community, for me creating this protest art is how I could weave my frustrations into something that cannot be ignored.

Growing up here, I learned that we don’t do things alone. I was raised on quilting parties, community & the power of creating something together. I am who I am today because of the orgs that gave me a place to belong; from school sports and theatre to the local museums that hold our history.
