Day 2 of kinship workshop, we moved into richer terrain with two-sex, time-varying models and spent time unpacking a powerful idea : kin loss and bereavement
One striking insight: in India, an individual aged 100 in 2020 would have experienced the loss of nearly 45 kin over their lifetime!
Today, we officially kickstarted the workshop on "Analysis of Population Level Kinship Structures" at IIPS Mumbai with @demography.bsky.social and Saroja Adhikari from @mpidr.bsky.social ! Already picking up fresh ideas and good energy. I'll keep sharing little moments from the workshop โจ๏ธ
