Sunday Homily - "All Enduring Hope"
The two disciples represent the entire humankind. The two disciples represent every one of us. And the stranger in their midst is Christ, the hope of humanity. www.itemissaest.org/resources/su...
Sunday Homily Podcast - "All Enduring Hope"
Christ who walked with the disciples on the way to Emmaus is also the Christ who walks with us today.

April 20 Scripture
When Jesus says, "Do not work for food that perishes" (Jn 6:27), he is not saying the food for the body is not important. But rather, he was pointing people to a holistic life. As much as we work to provide daily bread, we must also strive to seek to build God's kingdom on earth.
"It is love that must triumph, not war." #PopeLeoXIV #PrayForPeace
April 16 Scripture
"We must obey God rather than men" (Acts 5:29).
No commentary needed.
April 17 Scripture
Nothing stopped the apostles "from teaching and proclaiming the Christ, Jesus" (Acts 5:42). There were threats, imprisonments, floggings, and possibility of death. But they could not be stopped. Today, amidst threats, let us not be afraid. Christ is risen. He is with us. Amen.
April 18 Scripture
The problem of distribution of bread fairly prompted "the Twelve" to reorient their ministry. The creativity comes with a tragedy. They chose "seven reputable men"(Acts 6:3). Jesus' inclusion of women or women as the first witnesses of the resurrection is overlooked. Patriarchy...
I have been following your account for sometime; Bailey was such a sweet soul and so loved. I’m so sorry for your loss—may you find comfort in knowing Bailey is at peace and will be deeply missed 🐕🦺🐾🪽🤍
If you paid even a penny in federal income tax last year, you paid more than:
Tesla
Southwest
Disney
Live Nation
HP
United
PayPal
CVS Health
Palantir
Citigroup
PG&E
3M
That's right. They paid $0 in federal income tax.
It's time for big corporations to pay their fair share.
Pope in visit to orphanage in Cameroon: “In a world often marked by indifference and selfishness, this home reminds us that we are the ones who need to look after our brothers and sisters, and that, in God’s great family, no one is ever a stranger or forgotten, no matter how small he or she may be.”

Mayor Wu looks down solemnly next to families of the Boston Marathon victims.
Mayor Wu walks with families and officials through the street during the memorial ceremony.
We hold close the memory of those whose lives were tragically taken or forever changed on April 15, 2013, and we honor all those who ran towards the danger to protect others.
Thank you to the heroes who showed the world the true spirit of Boston—one of kindness, care, and compassion.

Pope Leo in Cameroon: “To govern means to love one’s own country as well as neighboring countries; the commandment ‘love your neighbor as yourself’ is equally applicable to international relations!” So, do I love Mexico as I do the US?
April 4
It is Holy Saturday.
Darkness never looked so dark.
Life never looked so fragile.
Yet... Hope never looked so real.
April 6 Scripture
The consistent message from the angels at the tomb and from the resurrected Jesus is, "Do not be afraid!" (Mt 28:10). Now that Christ is risen, every fear has been overcome. It is not that life is all straightened out, but that we can face it with the enduring presence of Christ.
April 11 Scripture
Jesus did marvelous works and the religious authorities did not think it credible. Now his disciples did a remarkable sign (Acts 4:16), and they still don't believe. It's become a pattern. Are there patterns in our spirituality to which we should pay attention?
Sunday Homily - "Great Mercy"
Divine Mercy devotion is not merely a devotion. It is a way of life.

April 13 Scripture
When the authorities threatened the apostles, Acts 4:31 says, they "continued to speak the word of God with boldness." The post-resurrection and Pentecost era were not times of fear and timidity. It was an era of "boldness". #PopeLeo continues the early Christian tradition today.
April 14 Scripture
"There was no needy person among them" (Acts 4:34). This is the most reassuring statement about the early church. We do not know how long this community existed or where else it was replicated. The fact it was accomplished tells that heaven can exist on earth. "Thy Kingdom Come!"
There is only one Jesus Christ. And it is Jesus Christ. None other.
April 15 Scripture
"And this is the verdict,
that the light came into the world,
but people preferred darkness to light,
because their works were evil" (Jn 3:19).
God so loved the world (Jn 3:16). Some still choose the darkness of hate, violence, and war.
But, let's live in light and love.
