Florida's orange harvest has crashed by 95% since 2003.
Housing overdevelopment, sand mining, and overuse of pesticides have all contributed, but the main culprit is Citrus Greening.
100% of orange trees in Florida are now infected with this wasting disease deemed "incurable."
Not to mention the uneven effects of the catastrophic loss of a school on a particular neighborhood or region, compared to other areas getting to keep their schools.

The process will inevitably be choppy and uneven, however, as the enrollment declines will be defused across many schools, and fixed costs and minimum staffing requirements will make it hard to smoothly reduce costs.
5/
Since most schools are funded on a per-pupil basis, declines in enrollment will inevitably lead to mass closures of schools.

It's not often talked about that many kids were pulled out of school during COVID and just...never came back.
While homeschooling and private school enrollments did increase, hundreds of thousands of children are still unaccounted for.

The map above is for public schools, but the entire education sector, including private, charter, homeschool, and higher ed will be similarly affected.

Thanks to a massive baby bust in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, exacerbated by Trump immigration crackdowns and the COVID-19 pandemic, US schools will see major declines in enrollment, with some states seeing *double-digit* declines.

So far, the jizamurai of the Iga Ikki are still holding out!
In the southwest, the Shimazu got bogged down attempting to conquer the Sagara clan in Higo, while the Mori and the Ōtomo faced off with each other across the Inland Sea.
Meanwhile, the Hōjō subjugated the Yūki, the Oda conquered the Saitō and Anegakōji and invaded the domains of the Takeda with help from Hashiba Hideyoshi, and the Date ran amuck in Tōhoku.
The Matsudaira overthrew their Imagawa overlords, the Kitabatake conquered most of Kansai with help from the warrior monks of Enryakuji and Negoroji temples, and the Asakura expanded into Hokuriku, at the expense of the Ikkō Ikki.
