Reminder that whenever someone says "gender ideology," they're referring to the mere existence of trans people, not an ideology. This is eliminationist garbage.
BREAKING: In response to our motion, the court has required CDC, FDA, and HHS to immediately restore critical health info and data that the Trump administration ordered the agencies to remove.
This is a huge win for doctors, researchers, and patients.
Corewell health will continue to provide transgender care and the army will continue to as well.
Finally some good news.
can't believe you ate a dolphin's asshole
The large, hazy oval of elliptical galaxy NGC 6505 illuminates the center of this image from the European Space Agency's Euclid mission. At the heart of the galaxy is a small bright spot surrounded by a thin white circle, which is a magnified view of a much more distant galaxy. The view is also filled with countless colorful stars and galaxies of various sizes and shapes amidst the blackness of space. Thin spikes of light extend from the brightest stars due to the observatory’s optics. The image is watermarked “Credit: ESA/Euclid/Euclid Consortium/NASA, image processing by J.-C. Cuillandre, T. Li” and “CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO.”
A close-up view of the center of the NGC 6505 galaxy, with the bright Einstein ring aligned with it, captured by ESA’s Euclid space telescope.
if you zoom into this image from euclid, you can see a beautiful einstein ring at the center of the galaxy ngc 6505 🌌
Magnetotactic bacteria are hypothesized as being a key player in the movements of birds and other migratory animals, as they are able to sense and align themselves along magnetic fields. Want to learn more? Start here! doi.org/10.1186/s404...

Literacy statistics showing that only 79% of adults in the United States are literate, on average. 21% of adults in the United States are illiterate. 54% have a literacy level below 6th grade, 20% below 5th grade. Low literacy levels cost the United States 2.2 trillion dollars per year.
Any politician who seriously cares about the future of this country (at least, a future which involves democracy) should be pushing for literacy programs at all age levels. Low literacy and anti-intellectualism are gasoline on the fire of fascism.

image of a nearly full moon taken with a telescope.
In preparation for the March 14 total lunar eclipse, I imaged the Moon last night with a monochrome ZWO ASI2600MM camera and RGB filters. I have always used a color camera (or color film) for total lunar eclipses. Monochrome is trickier to process, but brings out more detail. #astrophotography
Food Safety Doc (docs.google.com/document/d/1...) has been updated. New revisions: Mold vs Oxidation in raw produce, H5N1 and potential thermal resistance to pasteurization.
My 2025 hobby is helping my pals de-centre tech from their lives.
Acquire CDs, records, DVDs, paper books, reference books, magazines, dictionaries, etc. Go to the library!
Going analog is a small way to stop relying on tech bro monsters & helps preserve knowledge they're literally deleting.
this is theft on an unimaginable scale
I cannot take a plane with a passport card, so I can't get to a border agent to declare that I am seeking asylum. I can't get there by air from Mexico, and I can't do it from Canada. It's unclear as to whether or not I could sail there. How do I remedy this?
I would like to continue my studies, and to do this I would like to get to Spain, Germany, or Austria. I think I will be safest, have a reasonbly high quality of life, can reasonably find work, and can continue my education in the field of my major. The issue is this: (3)
I have a passport card. I do not have a passport book. I think it's stupid to try to get the book right now because I don't want my documents confiscated. I plan to seek asylum in either Canada or Mexico as soon as things get so bad here that I cannot reasonably stay. (2)
I have a question for someone who knows how to apply for asylum. In the US, a transgender person can nominally still get a passport, although it'd have the wrong gender marker. In practice, it looks like the US is confiscating our documents altogether when we try to apply. This is my situation: (1)
