Unhenged (2026) A dream image from our human past where volcanos and Stonehenge rule our existence. We are still the superstitious lot worshiping the light and fearing the darkness. Crash Test Dummies of an Imperfect God Because we are so stupid, the prizes in Cracker Jacks are now paper so they can be swallowed, ladders spackled with warnings. No getting within a hundred feet of Stonehenge because everyone wants to hack off a souvenir and the way home is clogged to one lane so whoever wants to can stare into a pothole until coming up with a grievance. I’d vote the greatest accomplishment of mankind is the pickle spear. God created paradise to tell us Get out! which is why we probably created God who doesn’t much like being created by ilk like us. No wonder it’s pediatrics every morning and toxicology by happy hour. Is it all in the mind, the dirty, dirty mind? Maybe God tried to turn you into a garbage can so you could be lifted by the truck’s hydraulic arms and banged empty. Maybe a snow cone so you could be sticky-sweet and dropped. Troubled Sleep (2026) An image of an ancient skeleton grown up with dead flowers and grasses lying besides itself unable to sleep across the ages. A found memory of our origins before history became our history... Dead Man Switch My father died when I was away living my life like no tomorrow was far enough to find me. But when mourning came, mother offered me his suit smelling of his Old Spice face hugging me. The suit might have fit but I was too fearful to try it. Instead leaving another monument to him hangared in her closet. Exactly what I feared remained unanswered. The years piling up my own mountains of dull mystery and trash. And then she died, haunted by daytime TV tragedy and neighbors wondering why she died alone. Surprised I was there to haul away her stuff, when they showed up looking to trade thin memories for bargains. But most of it remained stranded, bound for one of life's lower realms of reincarnation. Like my father's dead body in a winter too cold for burial, his suit standing bereft of compassion and things left unspoken. #avataristic1

It hangs in the wind, changing its faces of pain for you until you merge with the roar and go deep through the three holes to another form of life, so slow like sleep it's taken ten years just to push a log through orange gills. Others have landed like pale spaceships, cones of white meat stepping up the sides of trees, or brown heads nodding you on from the underside of death. You listen hard for the thin highway you left. The Indian is a pink Chihuahua peeking his head from the designer zipper. Out here it’s mostly light from the fifteenth century slamming into the planet. I can’t see the forest for the burn unit.
