Ignorant is a truly mis-utilized word it shouldn’t mean the same as uninformed, or unaware. Ignorant should describe an attitude of ignoring. Choosing to stay uninformed. Being willfully ignorant of that which is of no consequence to you. In that context it truly makes a better word.
