unfortunately I think mostly all new cars send back some type of telemetry/data to the manufacturer.. I'd love to go back to the days of non-smart TVs and simple cars

I'd love to get an EV, but a few things are keeping me from taking the plunge
- Cost
- Too much technology
- rely too much on manufacturer (i.e. software updates)
- expense of reparability
- battery wear/degradation
- wife will forget to plug it in at home

Scheduled a doctor appointment over 3 months ago for next week. Just got a call this morning from their office telling me the doctor will be on vacation so they need to reschedule, a month later.
