There were several enthusiastic riders. I was told people began lining up around 2:30 a.m. but when the doors opened apparently every bunched and rushed in.
Down on platform level, these University of #Toronto engineering students were holding a jam session.
While the first ride out of Finch West station was smooth, it wasn’t too quick. A speedometer app I had clocked it around 30 km/h at one point.
All across the line people lined up early to try to get on board to check out the new line.

A busy morning to cover the grand opening of Line 6 Finch West. Officials noted this is the first new line to open in more than 20 years. The 11-kilometre, 18-stop line runs between Finch West station and Humber Polytechnic.
