There were several enthusiastic riders. I was told people began lining up around 2:30 a.m. but when the doors opened apparently every bunched and rushed in.

Down on platform level, these University of #Toronto engineering students were holding a jam session.

While the first ride out of Finch West station was smooth, it wasn’t too quick. A speedometer app I had clocked it around 30 km/h at one point.

All across the line people lined up early to try to get on board to check out the new line.

Update: Metrolinx staff have confirmed a "contact centre vendor" used to help staff respond to the inquiries received by GO drafted a response using AI. A spokesperson apologized for "any confusion this might have caused" for riders. Also, they confirmed no changes yet for Barrie line service.
