“She’s the exception, I am the rule.”
Such articulate cutting through of the nonsense around puberty blockers and eg Keira Bell’s detransitioning from Stephanie Lynnette on GMB this morning. It is also a refreshing relief to see a trans person actually being allowed to speak for once!
Clearly I got the karmic balance on that with a van driver who was driving SO CAREFULLY I was very confused as to why they hadn't got to the mini-roundabout before me (as I got closer was apparent they, like me, had also slowed right down).
"I like that the mammoth is now going down a little incline"
Ah yes, this is emblematic of the decline and extinction of the species after the spread of human hunters.
"No, ALLAN, it's going for a little WALK to drink some WATER 😭"

Billie, a big blonde dog, napping on the sofa and Bracken, a wee blonde dog, napping on a footstool.
Rest, at last...
A wee terrier curled up asleep on a human's bed pillow.
This is against house rules but also very cute so...
Finally broke out Mario Kart World and what started out as silly fun became the Pauline Club, like the Ashleys in Recess, which given the size of the telly and four way split was CHAOS, Bracken was very startled by the shouting
the entire debate cis people have about trans people is moronic to start but it’s also a debate most trans people don’t care about, being that if we are viewed as “real women or men” or not. no one gives a fuck. it changes nothing about the reality that transitioning rocks
I spoke in Parliament today to challenge the misinformation from those claiming this tribunal as a 'win' for the anti-trans agenda.
In fact it found Ms Peggie harassed a colleague for being trans, and it dismissed almost all her claims.
It also found that trans segregation is not supported in law.
This is like an extra layer of infuriating to me: it is one thing for you to want the law to say something, it is another thing entirely to insist we must believe it says and always has said that despite all evidence to the contrary and the most basic application of logic
The article explicitly notes WI had had a trans-inclusive policy *since the 1970s*!
This update includes information you may find upsetting. Please take care when reading. From today, it is with a heavy heart that we announce trans girls will no longer be able to join Girlguiding. This is a decision we would have preferred not to make, and we know that this may be upsetting for members of our community. There will be no immediate changes for current young members, but more information will be shared soon. Most adult roles - including unit helpers, district helpers and administrative support - are already open to all, so we are confident that no volunteers will have to leave the organisation. Girlguiding believes strongly in inclusion, and we will continue to support young people and adults in marginalised groups. Over the next few months, we will explore opportunities to champion this value and actively support young people who need us. We stand in solidarity with trans girls and women.
i hope every single person who still buys harry potter merch or engages with that franchise is happy that they're literally making girl guides cry
girl guides uk have been forced very much against their will to exclude trans girls. full statement is here: www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-...
If you value my work and appreciate the fact that I put basic human decency and respect for human rights over my potential income, I'd really appreciate if you chipped into said crowdfunder here: gofund.me/55e3a6cf4
So turns out neither Nathan or I planned to be aisle walking at our wedding, so Nathan clicks on a video with tips for that bit and it starts by talking about the wedding party, Nathan turns to me and just goes:
"Make them walk down the aisle and we EMERGE FROM THE SHADOWS."
Okay, Dungeon Master.
The International Olympic Committee is set to ban trans and intersex women from competition. This is despite the fact that for 20 years, the IOC has allowed trans athletes to compete and only 1 has ever competed and none have ever won a medal.

Today marks just six months to go until the 2026 Scottish Parliament Election! As is now usual, I'll be looking to commission a pre-election poll. If you can, please chip in to the crowdfunder here - all donations gratefully received, and even if you can't donate, please share!

Cerberus has come for spooky season (we're having a chippie and watching the live action Scooby Doo because we're very cool kids)
Reminder: leaving the ECHR is not a popular position with voters! But the 3 most prominent parties in the country are all at least leaning towards it for some reason!
Said it before and saying it again but there's no way the Supreme Court's anti-trans ruling survives contact with European/International human rights law, and here's yet another example of an actual human rights expert/body effectively setting the stage for that.

"The British Psychological Society has warned that recent changes to equality law guidance risk causing confusion and damaging the wellbeing of trans people."

Fewer girls are playing sports after govt erected barriers for girls to play sports.

The destruction of the Gaza city mosque is a devastating loss to humanity as a whole. A part of our global medieval heritage destroyed in furtherance to a genocide. I despair.
Okay but the crinkle cut Max ones are excellent.
This is a good thread about a bad situation.
The recent irony of signing my statutory declaration that I live as a man and intend to continue at the same time as waiting for my work to confirm whether I can use the same facilities as other men without being disciplined was not lost on me.
This, from the Quakers, is a pretty good example of how to resist pressure from bigot lobbying groups. Effectively “we legally can allow trans people to use the loo, we morally should, and we tried it and nothing bad happened”
We’ve gone from a scenario where there was no evidence of women experiencing violence to one where there absolutely is, in the name of protecting women.
YouGov polling of Lesbians, Gays and Bisexuals, showing that around 65% of gay and bi men and about 85% of gay and bi women view trans people positively.
Proper polling of LGB people as a whole, rather than the anti-trans obsessives, shows our community is overwhelmingly supportive of trans people. Which makes sense, because they are part of our community.
It's your right to be a horrible person, but don't pretend you speak for the rest of us.
He's such a MODEL
With Tom Lehrer's passing, I suppose this is a moment to share the story of the prank he played on the National Security Agency, and how it went undiscovered for nearly 60 years.
