This is an expansion of how the gentry already see the world, which partly explains why they're so fervent about using "AI."

A thing about the heaviest users of chatbots is that they acclimate to cloying obsequiousness. Like a billionaire and their entourage of viziers, it becomes normal to them.

Any interaction that is *not* abject simpering they'll now perceive as a slap to the face, an aggressively violent outburst.

Two frames from Star Trek: Voyager of Tuvok in the mess hall, giving the line, "I have grown to respect a great many of you", and then with a bit of side eye, "Others, I have learned to tolerate"

I would not judge anyone with a target on their back for doing what they needed to do to survive this period of heightened bigotry and anti-intellectualism. I am lucky. I can complain and campaign from Ireland and be fairly certain nobody is going to break my door down and take me away.

It takes strength to care as much as you do. Most people compartmentalize because they can't face the injustice and live their lives comfortably. And the very weakest people with the poorest idea of what it takes to be human are all in charge somehow. It's 100% okay to be angry and confused

Good morning Bluesky. Wishing I had made coffee before I sat down but I didnโ€™t. Another sketching and writing day.

Amazon's price predicting algorithm, "Nessie", was paused
during the holiday shopping season and Prime Day, when it feared customers or journalists might notice the price increases, then turned back on once attention died
down.

The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

Happy Lesbian Visibility Week to our favourite lesbian. Or, you know, invisibility week if you are currently in hiding from a crotchety cannibal.

whats so crazy to me is the only job that chatbots could actually eliminate right now is ceo, every company could save millions today right now by replacing their ceo with a computer program that just parrots what other ceos say

"We built a locomotive that's going to run over a large portion of our userbase," is one hell of a sales pitch.

I know right! That would have been too perfect. Hamill is brilliant as a voice actor too, especially as Joker

Using an app called Habitica atm. I find it helpful. Helps me do things and get rewarded for it. (Also tracking what I have done/not done in a while.) But if you need to/want to limit the apps on your device(s) that can charge you a little bit of money to collect lots of little bits then maybe avoid

There are so many cool parallels here eg around forgiveness and acceptance.

Thereโ€™s another possibility that would also be interesting I think, Will as the doctor because itโ€™s him rejection him that makes the creature kill. So could be an interpretation of Hannibal going off the rails in Europe.

Frankenstein

Thinking now about literary parallels between Frankenstein and #Hannibal.
Hannibal is Victor and Will is his Creation. The more Will accepts his inner killer, the more he is isolated from the rest of humanity.

I feel like your brain is being really cruel to you. Don't listen to it when it's like this! You're not alone and you are right to focus on your health. Maybe reaching out to people and maintaining connections can be part of your health plan too ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿฉท

Photo of Pedro Pascal wearing a dark grey blazer and loosely tied necktie, paired with short blue denim jorts. He is holding some cream coloured roses in one hand and the other is over his crotch where he has suggestively tucked his index finger into his fly. Youโ€™re welcome.

I might be misreading things but it feels like the timeline could use a picture of Pedro Pascal in little shorty jorts

There is zero daylight between the "AI" hypemongers and the eugenics enthusiasts. They're all trying to be feudal lords over the entire planet while winnowing down anyone who isn't from their direct (deeply inbred) bloodline.

We don't even understand how consciousness works much less how much of a role genes play into the incredibly broad bucket of aptitudes that make up "intelligence", and these dipshits think they can add in extra like a fucking software patch. Get ready for Hapsburg Jaw 2.0
