A heartfelt thank you to Gerard Coll-Planas for his warm welcome and support, to all the colleagues at the University of Vic, and to Marina Garcia Castillo; colleague, flatmate, and most importantly, a golden friend who was there through the hardest and the best of times.
Wrapping up my visiting stay at UVic. It was a wonderful opportunity to immerse myself in the Catalan (and Spanish) academic world, to teach my very first class and seminar in the language of Almodóvar and to meet incredible people and experience life in beautiful Barcelona. 🫶
A huge thank you to Gerard Coll-Planas for this opportunity (and for challenging me to present these findings in the language of García Lorca). My thanks also go to Marina Garcia Castillo for co-organizing the session, and to the students for their insightful questions on LGBTQIA+ issues.
It was also an opportunity to present the first results of my longitudinal analysis on the salience of LGBTQIA+ issues in the programs of both Francophone and Dutch-speaking political parties.
I had the pleasure this afternoon of giving my first lecture in Spanish on LGBTQIA+ politics in Belgium to the Master's students in Gender Studies at the Universitat de Barcelona, as part of the course on Lesbian, Gay, Trans, and Queer Studies.
