Started a weekly podcast "Dare to Be Random." NotebookLM podcasts on things that should not be podcasts. Semiotic critique on the banality of podcast culture? A deconstruction of post-humanist AI narrative? Deconfabulation of the dominant paradigm? You be the judge! open.spotify.com/show/33QRcjr...

I am thinking more like “there is a moment coming…” ala Carlin.

I love Stephen Downes: “The future always arrives later than we think…” Just sit with that for a while over a beer on a Friday night.

Opinion | AI Can Work for Us A.I. can be designed to dramatically enhance individual empowerment.

"Imagine a world in which an A.I. can analyze your reading patterns and alert you that you’re about to buy a book where there’s only a 10 percent chance you’ll get past Page 6..."

Fuck off. That's not empowerment, that's outsourcing your soul. That's outsouling.

The sad thing is that even if someone does not agree with you, they should be following you because you are making cogent arguments. I miss the spirit of academic collegiality that insisted that one accounts for counter arguments rather than only hearing arguments that one agrees with.

Also, I am damn sure that the OpenAI model is definitely not the way to go ethically, BUT I think we can work on a way to have AI enhance or collaborate with students on critical thinking and problem-solving. This is not a “thinking” tool but a rhetorical one.

I am still figuring out Bluesky. I appreciate your patience as I get how people are following one another.

All jokes aside it's really fucked up to see so many people on here celebrating murder. No one here is the judge of who deserves to live or die. That's the job of the AI algorithm the insurance company designed to maximise profits on your health and no one else

I am using it to build prompts that teach students critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I am creating templates that students can edit and use in their work.

Brainstorm in Progress | "It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education." – Albert Einstein

This is my first post to Bluesky. I am also on Mastodon and my blog is at www.geoffcain.com. I am not afraid to spread out through multiple networks: they come and go and I see this as a way to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones.
