I'm fairly certain I know a lot more about lab testing in this province than you do. Because of my employer I will not divulge why or how in a public forum.

From my understanding, the testing will still be done by the public lab system (APL) and not third party providers.

There is capacity in the lab system for more tests to be done.

People paying for tests might even ease budget pressures and allow reinvestment in new equipment and staff.

I know physicians are stingy with diagnostics because they are told to only order what is medically necessary.
