Tom Warren writes "Most of the current and former Xbox employees I’ve spoken to in recent days are relieved that Bond is leaving Microsoft. I’ve heard from multiple sources that Bond has been tough to work with, and built a team structure that meant if you didn’t follow the vision or questioned it, you were out. Most have praised her ability to strike partnerships with companies and developers, though.

I wrote in December 2024 that Bond had 'staked her career reputation on the idea of Xbox being everywhere, across multiple platforms and devices.' This also involved carefully managing her image both internally and externally, making her appear to be a gamer like Phil Spencer. In reality, she wasn’t.

I understand that Bond’s strategy had been failing internally and been questioned multiple times. Bond had tried to push mobile and cloud over console, to reach potentially millions more Xbox customers, but the result has been a classic case of chasing tomorrow’s customers by neglecting today’s."

2021 Windows 11 reveal/Xbox directs and her line delivery was so robotic, she has to be one of the least genuine people on the planet. Not to mention wasting the 2021 event talking about her dad and using Apple buzzwords like "magical" and "it just works" to kiss up to Panos. 2/2

Everyone has been talking about Phil Spencer leaving Xbox in the last couple days. What I'm more surprised by is nobody except @tomwarren.co.uk mentioning Sarah Bond, responsible for the murder of the Xbox brand alongside Phil. I remember watching her presentations during the... 1/2

"Apple spends 55 billion investing in the CCP in China PER YEAR!"

Yeah, if they don't bribe China, they lose the Chinese market. No exaggeration, this would bankrupt Apple. Of course they will kiss up to China and the US. It's good business sense. Is it morally right? Well...

@distrowatch@mastodon.social: @kde@floss.social It's not really FUD though, is it? If someone wants to run a pure KDE/Plasma system then they're going to need to use PLM. PLM requires systemd. Therefore to run a pure KDE system the user needs PLM.

The fact other login managers can be used is a workaround to the problem KDE is introducing. Pointing that out isn't FUD, it's fact. One which KDE is now trying to downplay. And is now engaged in personal attacks against developers for pointing it out.

Not a good look, KDE.

Tom Murosky and Switched to Linux: Misinformation, Hate, and Sadness Let me introduce you to Tom Murosky, a Linux content creator with multiple channels, the most popular being Switched to Linux. He’s been on YouTube for years, uncontested in his misinformation about o...

Video in question: trafotin.com/v/tom-murosky/

The Lunatic's response (who lost it after I mentioned him for 5 seconds): www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhOv...

He's also responsible for generating harassment or spam wasting developer time. It's why most reputable Linux forums ban him.

He's a loon who attempted to doxx me (and failed) after I made a video about a Christian nationalist who grifts politics under the guise of Linux YouTube and complained to him. Now I'm just another member of the woke mafia. If you even have to ask, I question what value you even see.

"KDE improved drag and drop support between Wayland and X11 windows."

That's too technical and too wordy. I prefer "KDE made drag and drop more reliable."

Done. You said everything that needed to be said.

Thanks to the new #discord rules, my favorite videos to watch have been tutorials for local AI generated video, people staring at their cameras for multiple hours, eye contact practice videos, Death Stranding 2 photo mode, and exercises for neck rotation or Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) relief.

Linux users: haha funny, they put a bash manual in the files

Me: It's time to boycott It's FOSS (@itsfoss.bsky.social) and shame the author Abhishek Prakash for citing the Lunatic Journal. Unbelievable this made it past a review process for you to cite conspiracy theorists.

It's 2026. If you are telling people to disable secure boot to boot into a Linux distro, maybe they shouldn't being using that distro.

DO NOT TELL PEOPLE DUALBOOT LINUX AND WINDOWS UNLESS YOU HATE THEM. PARTITIONS ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. SEPARATE DRIVES ONLY.

Google's Live Translation Fails of 2025 At both Google I/O and Made By Google last year, Google attempted to show off for the umpteenth time their spanking new live translation feature. This time, the Phone by Google app now repeats what you said in another language in your voice, but only if you live in the United States. Unfortunately,

GNOME Calculator launched using the fish shell.

Except you can add `/var/lib/flatpak/exports/bin` to your $PATH. This way, you can type `com example.Application` in your terminal, dmenu, everywhere. Also if you aren't using completions and insist on doing everything in the terminal, you have bigger problems.
