From technical stuff to how to balance personal life, I learned a lot from you Chris. Thank you for being such an inspiration over the years!
DuckDB now supports reading from and writing to the Vortex file format! The DuckDB Labs and Spiral teams have worked together to make Vortex available as a core extension in DuckDB.
We gave it a test drive, and it performed very well. Read the full article to learn more lnkd.in/eZfGzPiZ
OMG ... I can't believe it. It is really gonna happen! #ComingSoon

"Oh, I'll just attend the webinar"
"Maybe I will download the slides"
Neither of that will EVER reproduce the value of sharing your knowledge and experiences face to face with your community colleagues at a meetup.

How do you deal with another cat smell on the toys coming into your home? Might backfire
We published a new deep dive by Laurens Kuiper, who recently redesigned DuckDB's sort.
One data point: ordering the TPC-H SF100 lineitem table with the memory limit set to 30 GB is 3× faster in DuckDB v1.4 than in v1.3.

There is a nice documentary (3 seasons I believe) about tacos on Netflix. I believe I learned this fact there (and many others).
It’s in Spanish and totally worth it
I have published the CatVector embedding-vector heatmap visualization app (for learning and fun!) as a static webpage now (just browser is enough, no downloads or Python needed).
And now we have dark mode too! 😼

As I'm creating new content for my latest online training courses, I just bundled the 2021 "Troubleshooting Very Complex Oracle Performance Problems" videos into the AOT & SQL Tuning courses, without an extra fee; existing attendees will have access too!

Next step, run DuckDB embedded in each storage cells 🤣
Hit send too soon, I meant to say that `GROUP BY n` (and ALL) is the close second, great job 👏
The feature I get asked all the times, “EXCLUDE” to take stuff out of `SELECT *`
Streamhouse!!!
Would be awesome to also have UUID v7 (correct me if wrong and it’s already supported, I can’t find any mention if so)
Amazing! So well done!! 👏👏👏
Wasn’t this under a fix control for the longest time?
2018 here! And it was Trivadis Performance Days 😉

I’m really curious what people are using it for, I truly believed it was long forgotten when I saw the extension come out
Not that somebody uses the avro extension is any less surprising 🤣
20y and 2 days ago (forgot!) I joined Oracle Italy…
We teamed up with the Disseminate: The Computer Science Research Podcast to launch a new series called DuckDB in Research.
In the first episode, show host Jack Waudby talks to Till Döhmen about DuckDQ, a Python library for data quality checks in ML pipelines: open.spotify.com/episode/2a0b...
