"Look, suppose you want me to do a 315-lb bench press. I say I can’t and you say it’s mandatory. Saying it’s mandatory does not make it possible for me to bench 315."

I used to often use my cats to help promote my books, but I am sadly in between kitties (though hopefully not for long!). Luckily, ariana.victoria.w's cats have volunteered for this solemn duty. We've had Tala & Rya. Finally: Mako!

With the release of @lrlam.bsky.social's preferred editions of the Micah Grey trilogy (@dawbooks.bsky.social / @hodderscape.bsky.social), we had the opportunity to interview them.
Review of Pantomime also for this afternoon!

And as promised, here's my take on Pantomime, by @lrlam.bsky.social (@dawbooks.bsky.social), a coming of age story that marvelously captures the struggles and difficulties that many people experience with their identity, and an excellent circus story.

I've successfully convinced so many people to read it with this pitch and all loved it.
We are thrilled to reveal our special edition set of the Dragon Scales series by @lrlam.bsky.social in collaboration with @hodderscape.bsky.social 🐉🔥
Black and white image of author L.R. Lam and a quote of hers say ‘‘Don’t you want to read about the twink with slutty little glasses falling in love with this hot bisexual knight?’ This is one of many excellent lines they said during our most recent podcast with them
We welcome @lrlam.bsky.social on the Binge Reading Bookclub Podcast!
We read The Everlasting by @alixeharrow.bsky.social. A marvellous fantasy that combines love, nation building, tragedy and time travel!
L also breaks down how Harrow utilises the time travel trope to best serve the plot.

A screenshot of an iOS device showing the Libro audiobook app, which is displaying 33% progress through the Masquerade audiobook.
How am I already a third through @lrlam.bsky.social’s Masquerade re-release on @libro.fm?!
(Yes, my therapist reads my books, and then will usually make some astute observation that makes me glad most readers don't know all my trauma, hah).
My therapist went to see a play in London, and halfway through, she went, hang on, I know this actor's voice...as a dragon.
It was indeed Philip Ishak Arditti, the audiobook narrator for Dragonfall.
So preorders are one of the best ways you can help an author! They signal interest to the bookstore and the publisher!
Now is frankly an especially great time to preorder a lot of queer & diverse books, to signal that there's still a market despite bans! It's a way you can help plus you get BOOKS

A tale of slow-burn romance, deceit, thievery, angst, and of course, dragons. Human Arcady and dragon Everen must decide what to save: themselves or the worlds and what they hold dear. The sequel just came out this year, I'm running to read it! 🏃♀️

wow we are arriving at the exact situation every single person imagined within one second of seeing their first robot dog
Screenshot of a Vox article header in the Policy section. The headline reads in bold, "The fight over transgender rights in America has entered a new phase." Below it, the subheadline says, "The policy fight is moving well beyond sports and youth medicine. The political response hasn't caught up." The article is by Rachel Cohen Booth and dated March 17, 2026, 6:00 AM EDT.
I am going to become the joker.
We've been screaming from the rooftops that this was never about sports or trans youth healthcare. Instead, we were ignored and browbeaten by a bunch of idiot centrists who took the concerns of people who want us eliminated in good faith.

Anyway, if you would like to read a gaslamp fantasy trilogy set in a magic circus (then the magician's stage) that looks at gender, performativity, and that has found family, then Pantomime, Shadowplay, and Masquerade are all out now. One of the very few series with an intersex protagonist.
For launch day, I had brunch with a friend then went to the National Library of Scotland and read folk tales and translations of Gaelic poetry all day.

US peeps! This is effectively a nation-wide book banning bill. Make some noise in Congress!
I am proud of this series and glad it's going to be complete in its new form. Just hard not to feel a little hopeless launching trans books in the face of well...*gestures*
Pre-launch anxiety? Of course, always. Complete anhedonia and numbness? That's new.
Post-launch blues are always a thing for me, but this is the first time I've had pre-launch blues.
