This is a photo from 1992 during the Rodney King riots. Shame on CNN for using this photo to score points with the regime!

In fact, I would argue that thinking you should only protest when you’re sure you can win is the most naive position of all.

The guy arresting you shouldn’t look like the guy in a ski mask robbing a liquor store. It’s why we’re advancing legislation to put a stop to secret police-style masked law enforcement.

Really heartening to attend the neighborhood #NoKings protest today in Highland Park with my dear friend @sazeracla.bsky.social (and a cameo by @wendycarrillo.bsky.social with her Hamilton-inspired sign!)

I’d love it if this accelerated the secession of the West Coast states, not gonna lie.

Buried lede: this will also spell the end of indie patterns as we know them, since the Big 4 parent also owns the last remaining tissue printing plants.

So thrilled to see the @watchduty.org app won the Social Impact award at #WWDC this year

I understand all of this was inevitable, but it still feels like "Elon wants to impeach Trump, who is being advised to deport Elon" was spoken directly into existence by the most fanfic-minded resist libs

We saw it at Regents Park, and it was stunning. the indoor setting (and Barbican’s terrifically uncomfortable seats) might take away a bit of the magic, but the performances and staging were top tier.

Whatever Fetterman’s reasons, he’s a danger and a deep disappointment.

As long as it’s not the nectarine, I’d honestly be ok with any of the others taking over. We couldn’t choose what we wanted and so Mother Nature can be the decider. 🤣

We have a 1-year guarantee from the nursery so hopefully their confidence is well-founded. And it was raised in the valley so HLP should feel cool and comfy by comparison. We loved our plum in SF but it did get rather monotonous a few weeks in. 🤭

After weeks of prep, we finally have fruit trees in the ground: a Lisbon lemon, a Pixie tangerine, and a “cocktail” with Blenheim apricots, Alberta peaches, Santa Rosa plums, and Fantasia nectarines. It was painful to remove their fruit but I know they need to focus their energy on roots first.

Yeah, Ace is (like most hardware brands) a co-op supply chain, not a true company. Ours is owned by Westlake Ace, a chain of ~200 Ace stores. We have a local non-Ace shop walking distance but they keep bankers hours + very limited supply. I sure miss Cole Hardware in SF (also Ace but super local).

That’s a good idea; I’ll send an email on Monday if I can find one. (People at the help desk are often pleasant but not really interested in feedback.)
