This is literally a year old.

This is a photo from 1992 during the Rodney King riots. Shame on CNN for using this photo to score points with the regime!
In fact, I would argue that thinking you should only protest when you’re sure you can win is the most naive position of all.
5% holy hell I did not know it was even possible to be this unpopular
The guy arresting you shouldn’t look like the guy in a ski mask robbing a liquor store. It’s why we’re advancing legislation to put a stop to secret police-style masked law enforcement.
Already blocked by one of the blocklists I subscribed to, months ago. Well done, butterflies
Vance is here to grab content he can post on X, using your replies. Starve the beast.
Same! (Same timeframe, too.)
Protest sign: if you’re not heartbroken you’r numb with privilege
Protest sign: the only monarch I want is butterfly
Protest sign: this aggression will not stand, man
Protest sign: ICE out of LA in the style of an ad for Icee slushes
A few more shots of my creative and engaged neighbors at the Highland Park #NoKings protest 💙
A protester dressed sloppily with a giant paper mache head of Trump, carrying a sign that says I’m a disgusting pervert
Former assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo at a protest carrying a sign that says I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love, with a picture of Trump making a face
A masked protester holds a sign that reads Immigrants ARE Los Angeles; a crowd is visible across the street
A protester holds a sign that says Trans Kings Only
Really heartening to attend the neighborhood #NoKings protest today in Highland Park with my dear friend @sazeracla.bsky.social (and a cameo by @wendycarrillo.bsky.social with her Hamilton-inspired sign!)
(If you’re in any of these and want a copy without your face blurred/covered, hmu)
I’d love it if this accelerated the secession of the West Coast states, not gonna lie.
Buried lede: this will also spell the end of indie patterns as we know them, since the Big 4 parent also owns the last remaining tissue printing plants.
It’s like Becki doesn’t know anything about Grudgemaster General.
Screenshot of the Apple press release with an image of the Watch Duty fire app and the following text: Social Impact Winners and finalists in this category improve lives in a meaningful way and shine a light on crucial issues. App: Watch Duty. Developer: Sherwood Forestry Service (United States) During devastating wildfires in Southern California, Watch Duty once again served as a lifeline, delivering up-to-the-minute updates, evacuation information, and critical resources with clarity and reliability. The app reports information like active fire perimeters and progress, wind speed and direction, and evacuation orders.
So thrilled to see the @watchduty.org app won the Social Impact award at #WWDC this year

I understand all of this was inevitable, but it still feels like "Elon wants to impeach Trump, who is being advised to deport Elon" was spoken directly into existence by the most fanfic-minded resist libs
BREAKING: Judge Boasberg GRANTS class certification for the people held at CECOT and gives the government ONE WEEK to explain how they're going to facilitate due process for EVERYONE sent there under the Alien Enemies Act. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
We saw it at Regents Park, and it was stunning. the indoor setting (and Barbican’s terrifically uncomfortable seats) might take away a bit of the magic, but the performances and staging were top tier.
Whatever Fetterman’s reasons, he’s a danger and a deep disappointment.
Good lord, he really is following the Fetterman playbook.
As long as it’s not the nectarine, I’d honestly be ok with any of the others taking over. We couldn’t choose what we wanted and so Mother Nature can be the decider. 🤣
We have a 1-year guarantee from the nursery so hopefully their confidence is well-founded. And it was raised in the valley so HLP should feel cool and comfy by comparison. We loved our plum in SF but it did get rather monotonous a few weeks in. 🤭
A man in chinos and a light denim shirt and a straw hat inspects a newly planted citrus tree
A young lemon tree, newly planted
A branch of a young stone fruit tree with small fuzzy fruit
A man’s hands cradle immature fruit of various shapes and sizes, culled from newly planted trees
After weeks of prep, we finally have fruit trees in the ground: a Lisbon lemon, a Pixie tangerine, and a “cocktail” with Blenheim apricots, Alberta peaches, Santa Rosa plums, and Fantasia nectarines. It was painful to remove their fruit but I know they need to focus their energy on roots first.
Yeah, Ace is (like most hardware brands) a co-op supply chain, not a true company. Ours is owned by Westlake Ace, a chain of ~200 Ace stores. We have a local non-Ace shop walking distance but they keep bankers hours + very limited supply. I sure miss Cole Hardware in SF (also Ace but super local).
That’s a good idea; I’ll send an email on Monday if I can find one. (People at the help desk are often pleasant but not really interested in feedback.)
Just paid $4.69 a gallon at “The Cheap Arco” last night.
