Rockula - This is a weird and kind of obscure movie, but man, it's fun as hell. A wimpy vampire starts a rock band to win the heart of his reincarnated lost love. It has an interesting cast. Toni Basil, Thomas Dolby, and Bo Diddly all have major roles. Well worth seeking out.

The Queen of the Damned - A sequel to Interview With A Vampire. I can see why people are nostalgic for it, but it didn't have the juice Interview... had. It especially seems lacking after watching the AMC series. Still, the aesthetic of the movie was cool and the guy who played Lestat did a good job
I watched two movies about vampire rock stars with my partner earlier tonight. (Cont.)
Over at my Substack, I'm still looking at the films of Shozin Fukui. Here, I discuss his most well-known feature films.
Front cover features, in the top 2/3 of the space, a close up of a foil eclipse viewer with the pinhole as a focal point. Bottom of the screen features the text: Terrestrial, Suzy Eynon, a novella.
So happy to share the cover for @suzyeynon.bsky.social’s forthcoming novella, Terrestrial (May 2026, preorders open now and copies will be signed by the author). As ever, @angeelio.bsky.social gave us something special.

Got an updated edition of The Butcher of Nazareth by @davidscotthay.bsky.social
Thank you, David!
The ARC was my favorite book that I read last year. If you haven't gotten a copy, you need to get on that.
Congratulations!
New Godless haul featuring Nathan D. Ludwig, Jeffrey Ford, Mick Collins and Aaron Lebold
Part two of my articles covering Fukui will be up later this week.
Continuing to watch Shozin Fukui's entire filmography, I re-watched Rubber's Lover today. This film had an even bigger impact on me than I remembered. I can recognize the same imagery and atmosphere I was trying to achieve in a few of my books.
In today's mail, Metro Kinetic by Brian Bowyer and Avonwood Exodus by Chad Lutzke
It's even free on Tubi at the moment. I highly recommend watching it if you haven't, or rewatching it if you have.
If you saw one of my last posts, I'm rewatching all of Shozin Fukui's films that I can find.
I just rewatched 964 Pinocchio. It made an impact when I saw it years ago, but it's even better on rewatch. Full of visceral, striking imagery, hilarious, and even touching in parts.
Over at my Substack, I'm looking at the films of the recently deceased Japanese director Shozin Fukui, director of the cult classics 964 Pinocchio and Rubber's Lover. In the first installment, I'm looking at his early short films.
Hell yeah, new Carlton Mellick III.
Next, Rob Ramirez's debut novel, Candy Shopping at the End of the World (originally released as Doomsday Daytrip), will be reprinted by Anxiety Press on April 27th.
Thank you Crystal Cook and Cody Sexton for bringing these books back!
April is going to be a big month.
First, my novel, If today the sun should set on all my hopes and cares.., is being reprinted by 13 Days Publishing on April 3rd.
This is like Maniac, a slasher from the slasher's perspective that forces you to sit with their dark thoughts between their murders. This one is even more well-crafted with excellent camera work, amazing actor performances, & the way it strips any mystique or cool factor in the killer.
I watched Angst today. It's a movie about a killer who goes on a murder spree the day he's released from prison and then immediately gets caught again.
My short story collection, The Dinner Show and Other Consumptions, is eligible for a Splatterpunk Award for Best Collection.
Feel free to nominate it below if you believe it deserves it.

It's like a Coen Brothers movie having an increasingly deeper mental breakdown over its runtime.
